This would be all over the news if a Republican did it but the liberal media is covering it up.

The left wing liberal mainstream media is tearing this country apart!

You could get angry, given that the same people doing this are the ones calling for hiring freezes and no pay raises for the worker bees.
You could get angry at the hypocrisy of politicians who were elected because they were able to fool a stupid and gullible electorate into believing they were actually voting for 'fiscal conservatives'.
You could get angry that nepotism and cronyism have long been the tradition in Southern politics.

Or you could do what most North Carolinians will do... watch Duck Dynasty and wrestlin', post YouTube comments via their iPhones, attend a church that lacks the willingness or conviction to teach actual 'Christian' principles, and continue to blame 'the coloreds', the 'Welfare queens', the Liberals, the Mooslims, and Fartbongo for all their woes.

As a people, we are too indifferent and too lazy to care or get involved. We all get EXACTLY what we deserve.

Nah, it is a state agency. This stuff happens all the time and it gets local coverage and then goes away. Patronage is part of politics.

Anthony Vellucci, the information technology director for NC FAST, received a $23,000 raise in June and now earns $168,000 a year. Vellucci does have an IT background, but the raise comes amid an array of problems with the social services benefits system that has left many hungry families without food stamps.

Oh stop.  Make it go away.  I can't stop crying for the hungry children.  Noooooooooooooooo.  That mean IT director causing problems with the social benefits system should be lynched!  Oh, the children...

If there isn't enough money to properly fund the nutritional assistance program, there shouldn't be enough to afford giving one guy a $23K/year raise. I'd say any reasonable person would agree to that, but you aren't a reasonable person, just a shiatty troll trying to score points for the GOP while sticking one to the libs.

/I try to not use the ignore function, but lately some of these assholes are getting to be too much.

$84K a year? Peanuts. I mean, just look at what these hard-working middle-class people are making:

This guy must be swabbing toilets or something, amirite?

But I was told that people who make lots of money get it because they work hard and pull themselves up by their own bootstraps.

Jason Simmons must be pretty pissed right about now.  That c*ck Matt is making $25k more than him.

Or get an engineering degree and go to work in the oil and gas industry.

So are they doing a good or bad job?  If they are doing a good job then who gives a fark.  If they are doing a terrible job then torches and pitchforks are warranted.

Or get a useful degree.

Graduates holding a 3rd Assistant Engineer or 3rd Mate License from a Maritime Academy easily make $80k/year their first year out. And that's just on a normal rotation of 2months on/2 months off!

There's always somebody who hears one for the first time and thinks they are funny and original...
