11 runs in an inning? Impressive.  Who was it against?

Astros.

Oh.  I see.  Apparently anything counts a news now-a-days.

if it were that easy, everyone else would be lighting up houston with football-esque scores.

small ball for the win. not sexy, but effective.

Really? I thought it was sexy. I enjoyed it.

Three of our players scored twice in that inning. Awesome.

They're lucky they had their #3 hitter bunt.  Who knows how many they would have scored without that sacrifice.

To be fair, Lucas Harrell was on the mound, and he's well below replacement value.  The stats say "Nearly any team could find a better pitcher on the waiver wire or in AAA", but the Astros have already promoted their AAA roster, and aren't going to sign a guy just to be their #5.  131 IP with 74 walks, 76 strikeouts, and a 5.55 ERA?  I hope you saved some of that signing bonus.  It'll go far in Oklahoma City next year.

Plus, his relief was Wade LeBlanc, who couldn't pitch well enough to stay on the Marlins this year.

Texas fans should be far more concerned that Garza let up 5 ER against the Astros.

And then they brought in the backup second baseman/emergency catcher who was already in the game catching at the ML level for the first time, to pitch the ninth and he retired all three Rangers he faced.

Even as a Rangers fan, that was painful to watch.  The catcher sinking face down on the plate after the foul tip was ugly.

Lucas Harrell is just terrible.  This is the guy who biatched and moaned about being demoted to the bullpen after starting the season with a 6-13 record with a 5+ ERA.  The whole team is garbage but it was nice being able to watch them on tv for a change even if it was the Rangers' broadcast.  Screw Jim Crane and his ownership group.

This is like the third headline this week about a meaningless accomplishment against the Astros.

Something about Darvish and a missed call, something about the Angels doing something, and now this.

I don't blame you a bit. I'm just glad Crane lost out when he wanted to buy the Rangers. I was surprised MLB approved when he bought the Stros,

and the Astros made two crucial errors, at least, that extended the inning, but hey, they put the ball in play.

Go Rangers!

the mister and I settled in to watch this outdoors at our favorite tex-mex joint and left at the end of the third inning. It was too brutal.

Every Ranger in the starting lineup scored in that inning.  I didn't see if anyone came up with a fact of when that has happened before.  Would be interesting because I imagine it's extremely rare.

I think the record for first inning runs is 19, with four pitchers.

Moving to the AL West has been such a loss... to the NL Central's records.

I saw something about that last night. The last time that happened was also by Texas in September 2008 (vs the Angels, bottom of the 3rd). But here's the catch: they lost.

I think he meant the part about all 9 batters scoring at least once in one inning.  I'd be curious if that's happened.
