Of course they will. Make no mistake, Al Jazeera tries to appear as if they are a hard-hitting independent international journalistic news organization who puts their reporters into rough parts of the world to bring us news of what's really happening on the ground, but let's not forget that they broadcast Al Qaeda videos, and they run treasonous programs that dare criticize the United States and our way of doing things. Our benevolent government painstakingly crafts talking points for news organizations to repeat the world over, and they Al Jazeera REFUSES to broadcast them! THEY WANT US ALL DEAD

Starting with FoxNews.  I hope.

I am shocked that Fox News doesn't want more competition in the market place.

Shocked, I tell you.

So Fox News is misrepresenting the facts, making things up whole cloth, and reminding their base that they're the only 'unbiased' news source?  Must be Tuesday.

PINKERTON: Well, I think there is something to that. But look, they're an Arab news channel and let's face it, many if not most Arabs probably support what bin Laden was trying to do in terms of killing Americans and so on. The polls, certainly from the Pew Center certainly show that.

And later...

The Pew surveys Pinkerton cites actually came to the opposite conclusion. "In the months leading up to Osama bin Laden's death, a survey of Muslim publics around the world found little support for the al Qaeda leader."

They are such horrible liars!  OK, I can accept (yet strongly dislike) that you're a propaganda machine.  But could you at least lie better?  What would be so hard about simply saying "some polls/studies..."?  No, you had to pick the poll that said the opposite.

Sigh... apparently after tomorrow, the only way to get Al Jazeera English (the current format from Doha/London) will be by VPN tunnels.  The web and free-satellite versions of AJE will go away in favor of the new "AJ America", which will only be on cable/paid-satellite (and also try to add commercials).

Which is their prerogative. But, when your distribution model depends on the help of companies like Comcast (owns MSNBC) and Time-Warner (owns CNN)... you're already on your hind foot.  The cable and satellite companies will probably hear from more Tea Party lunks, angry that AJAM exists on their cable, than from viewers. I'll give decent odds that every one of the top ten paid-TV providers will drop them within a year.

Time Warner Cable doesn't own CNN, they spun off from Time Warner as a separate company in 2009

2013-08-19 06:37:56 PM
All of the cable news networks are terrified of AJ America coming online, and I'll tell you why:

They don't care about sponsors.  They're solely and wholly owned by the government of Qatar and they simply do not care if they make a profit or not.

Their singular goal is to be what network news used to be: Hard hitting, real news, not fluff and not biased due to corporate/Political pressure.

They've hired on people from other networks with the same goal, to drag journalism in America back to a respectable place, whether it wants to go or not.

So, they don't care if they run into the red.  They're fully funded and don't give a single good goddamn about what politicians or the corporations think and I'm hoping that they offer a paid online version so that I can throw some money their way and get something in return for it.

Fox News is probably one of the reasons why America is full of doubt and polarized on opinions. If anything Al Jazeera English would tell us that a lot of stuff is happening in the world besides which celebrity farted in Hollywood.
