Actually, having a bunch of leopards that are capable of making bombs is kind of cool. I'd pay to see it.

That really is sad.  Bunch of entitled NIMBY pricks.  The facility pre-dates nearly all the houses there.

I just don't understand that.

Suspicious that they don't even respond to the nuclear bomb issue.  Not only seeing someone with Cerebral Palsy in possession of a nuclear weapon - but also the agonizing anticipation of watching as he attempts to push the button to end the lives of thousands - is far worse than Iran having one.  So I'm against the expansion of care to these people in my neighborhood.

It appears as though the facility was smaller when the houses started coming.  It's really a no-win situation unless the facility can find some other location big enough to fit its needs.

Too many rich people in Peapack-Gladstone. They should just put it in Somerville with all the other group homes, halfway houses and methadone clinics.

We in New York have to look at New Jersey in our backyard 24/7, so what is their problem?

Oh right, they have to look at handicap people and themselves in a mirror.

No wonder Jersey has issues.

There was a hospital here that had the same problems when I was a kid. They had the land to expand but the neighbors whose houses came after the hospital raised holy hell. If you live near a hospital or airport they will expand!

Above: Persons of interest are tested to determine if they float or sink.  The results of these
tests are then used to confirm whether or not an individual is a witch.  Nearly twenty witches are
identified and burned at this facility each year, providing a valuable service to the community.

The expansion is within every original limit. They aren't building anything taller than the original building(s) and they aren't building outside the current footprint. This is almost as bad as the people that don't want Down Syndrome cured because it would destroy the "culture". It is utterly and entirely selfish.

Ya know, if traffic impacts are the concern, the school could just start using longer buses.

I understand that, however the expansion would be the same roofline and contained in the same footprint, as the current facility, and still would be unable to be seen from behind the trees.

So what?

which is funny because the hospital/home is on 81 acres, and the community folk all live on 1-3acre lots. They barely even have neighbors at that size.

fark these ivory tower pieces of shiat. If I still lived in NJ (yes, it is possible to escape), I'd be going door to door on that list of protest names and handing out subversive revenge.

There is a comment in the article from someone who's daughter gets treatment there for a rare seizure disease. It pretty much confirmed my thought that the road in question is a two lane country deal, pretty much deserted all the time, no children playing, no mass amounts of people walking up and down that might be in danger.

fark this is really working me up on a Monday morning. Is there some sorta petition we can start or something? I am bad at this and I live in Arizona, I am pretty much drowning in rich assholes and their antics all the time, but this is just so farked up.

Raze the "community."

More room for the hospital/school to expand, less biatchy neighbors biatching about having to think about people less fortunate than themselves.

Never underestimate the ability of upstanding relatively wealthy to do whatever they want and protect their property values.

A half mile of bike path in some suburban town could have been routed along a quiet residential road along the river along with mini-mansions or along a busier residential highway full of stop signs.

They posted the signs along the busy residential highway full of stop signs.  Not that people people couldn't figure it out for themselves.  I rather enjoyed the dirty looks from old people in their caddies.

It never ceases to amaze me how fast people play the NIMBY card against an entity that was already there before they moved in.
Matheny has it's massive acreage that predated nearly anyone else. You can't see it, so who cares? But the simple fact that it is there is a nuisance now.
Same thing when people buy homes that abut railroad tracks near crossings and suddenly the warning horn is a nuisance and it must be stopped. WHY DID YOU MOVE THERE? What did you expect from a railroad?

Humanity is becoming stupid by the day.

Sorry, but "traffic issues" my spotty white arse.
Looks to me like the homeowners are evaluating how much better a golf course would look in that red area.
