Really? They have to fill up the article with pictures from Google Streetview?

These days, that "gold" is likely to be just gold-plated tungsten.

There's a larger one, but it's not longer than a football field.

Man, for $1B, I think I'd want my building to be a little less... wavy...

The size of the vault is pretty mind boggling.  Is it already empty in preparation for a sale?  Or will they shut down the streets of NYC so a convoy of armored cars can clear out the vault once it sells?  Sounds like a bad Diehard ripoff movie.

I like how they didn't bother to proofread the subheadline:

"Built in 1961 the building was one the sixth largest skyscraper in the world"

(bolded word probably should be "once")

It just so happens that 1 Chase Manhattan Plaza sits directly across the street from 33 Liberty Street...The New York branch of the Federal Reserve.

Additionally, I've read that there is a tunnel connecting the two buildings.

Oh great pictures of the outside of the building, and a stock photo of some gold bars.

Didn't Glenn Beck say that all the gold in the world would fit in a 50-foot cube?
