It's time.  Preseason football is still better then football of the Canadian or arena variety.

Exactly, it would have been 3 in the regular season.  Hope Baas is Ok.

Helluva missed opportunity there!

Canadian is a fine July/August substitute. Somehow I'm more interested when the games count. Bonus: they are not televising a game during Breaking Bad.

I have a theory that their "Football on your phone" video cursed them.  That's what I'm telling myself to feel better about the fact that it exists.

Ya know, something has bugged me for a while.

Andrew Luck has a rep as a cerebral QB. A prototypical passer, but no athletic slouch.

Cam Newton is this physical freak with sloppy decision making, bad mechanics, questionable leadership, and he runs too much. But he makes so many big plays with his legs, they let him slide!

Take a look at this, please. I just made this after looking at their combine stats side by side.

Why do we never hear much about Luck's athleticism? He's got damn-near the same everything as Newton. Or really damned close. But all you hear about Cam is his athletic ability.

Bugs me.

They got it but a toss sweep on 4th and a foot?

Luck is deceptively athletic,
just caught up to the reggie catch - hillarious, Wayne is showing great hand(s) again today

We get it he's white.

/here's an experiment for you: close your eyes and listen to an "expert" describe a QB, see if you can tell his race by the description
//"he's just a hard worker with a will to win. He really knows football and makes excellent decisions on the field, a real smart guy."
///"this guy has crazy athletic talent and a huge arm. He's a great scrambler too, but he doesn't always make the right read. His work ethic could be a problem"

DAMMIT GUNS!

Oh, shiat, the new gang at Fox doing the halftime....just brought up that Cam and Luck should be regarded as the same athletic ability.

Summabiatch, I just previewed Brian Urlacher and Randy Moss.

Why the hell is Randy Moss on TV?

2013-08-18 08:45:43 PM
Ok, hate to pollute a football thread, but the Red Sox intentionally hit ARod. 4 pitches, first went behind ARod, 2 more balls, then square in the back....

cause, believe it or not, when he's not being a flaming douchecicle, he can be lucid and reasonable. and, like it or not, he DOES know a thing or two about football.

how else do you expect him to know what plays to slack off on?

Why in the holy name of FSM would you let that dude do commentary?  I mean, with the whole voice modulation, gesturing, and moving your head occasionally thing that most normal, functioning humans do...

This game is painful, even for preseason. Though it makes me think the bills have a decent defense because they could at least stop luck somewhat.
