An executive involved in the negotiations between the Fox studio and NBC said political pressure was not a factor. Rather, the executive said, the financial terms offered by NBC simply were not attractive enough to Fox.

Bullshiat.

Eddie Adams from Torrance: What's the name of the studio who cancelled it?

Look, that doesn't matter, the big question is who's doing the work. I'm not interested in if they are using the same caterer or whether they all drink Diet Coke. I'm not boycotting Diane Lane.

Fox cancels all the good shows, or so I am told.

It probably was about money.  Republicans are perfectly capable of disregarding the fact that Fox was involved to pretend that it is Democratic propaganda.

He's got a point.  To the average teabagger, doublethink's as easy as breathing.

Remember, conservatives, Fox News is just packaged to serve you like any other specialty channel. News Corp doesn't have any sense of allegiance, just profit.

I still don't understand why the GOP is so upset by a Hillary documentary, anyway. There wasn't this much uproar over "Game Changer"

Because no one cares about trivia. OMIGOD post-Presidential charitable foundations will find themselves in an uncomfortable position if certain political careers change, news on FOX at eleven. And twelve. And one, two, three through nine, nine-thirty, ten-fifteen and ten-forty-five.

Meh.  I wouldn't watch it anyway, so I can't be bothered to be poutraged either way.  The fact that we have no unbiased major news media is what outrages me.

It gives them the excuse to accuse Democrats of things they've been doing with Fox all along.

"A spokesman for NBC said that despite the decision by Fox Television Studios, the network intended to develop the Clinton mini-series."

So, now they can biatch about the same thing, without having to cover their eyes and ears when someone mentions that it's produced by Fox.  We aren't even going to get the 5 minute break.

2013-08-18 06:55:58 PM
I don't think you guys have anything to worry about - at least not if the Clintons are your thing.

We are going to get PLENTY of state-media propaganda, sanitizing & glorifying Hillary for the next two years.  My only question is, why aren't other democrat hopefuls up in arms?  Forget Republicans, imagine being Biden, or anybody else on that side, having to fight against this?

Fox is in the business of making money. Period. Full stop.

Just because they've found a way to make money capturing the eyeballs of right-wing rubes doesn't change that one bit. They'd have gone through with this if the price was right, count on that.

2013-08-18 07:12:06 PM
If it still doesn't have a script, and Fox hands it off now, can we still blame Fox for its content when it finally gets made?  Or would that be  dɹǝp ɐdɹǝɥ ?

So we basically have a major U.S. political party trying to censor what television networks can broadcast.  What about NBC's "freedom of speech"?  You know damn well if the Democrats threatened to ban FOX News from having any POTUS debates, the GOP would be making that claim.  For a group that talks about being all tough and boot strappy, the GOP has turned into a bunch of wimps.  They want to promote all these messed up policies but consider it "bias" to be asked about them or called on it when they lie.  If the GOP feels their candidate can't handle a debate on CNN or NBC, how can you have any confidence in their candidate negotiating with other nations?

You've got that backwards (and your comment was kind of off-topic).

Republicans did debate on those channels but democrats refused to debate on FOX.  Bush would be interviewed by CNN, CBS (or whoever) but Obama refuses to be interviewed by FOX.

BTW, how's Obama doing with Putin... or that Egyptian general?
