It takes a lot to be more boring than Pocono, but Michigan has what it takes.

I'll be cleaning my grill for Bristol tailgating instead.

Alright I've been on a roll in the ESPN Fantasy game the past 3 weeks after sucking the entire 2nd segment before that. Let's see how I do today - trying to move into the top 80% on the season.

Drivers today are: BK (2), KyBu (18), Jr (88), the Biff (16), and the old man (55). Wish me well.

Detroit just filed bankruptcy. The farkers posting in this thread today could pool their resources and buy the entire city.

How the hell can NASCAR get away with that "It's so awesome here" video?

By the way, note on the Little League World Series, they had a bit of a realignment. The Middle East/Africa region got broken up. Africa is now lumped in a region with Europe; the Middle East migrated to the Asia/Pacific region to replace Australia, who now has a region of their own.

good_2_go: TSN just said they're showing the truck race at Mosport. I hope they use the Speed announcer crew. We don't need curling announcer Vic Rauter in the booth for a live race.

He's got a lot of seniority though, and he seemed to have gotten his start in motorsports.  I've got a video somewhere of him announcing an endurance race from Mosport back in the early 80's.

2013-08-18 03:42:26 PM
Okay, so we've got a car where teams are forced to put too much camber in, need to keep the splitter 100% even to the track, and have to run soft rear springs to compensate for the giant spoilers, and if they get side by side they lose the wall of air the car is "leaning on."

So at fast tracks, you have snap-loose cars, and at intermediate tracks, you still haven't solved "aero push."

Both result in restart wreckfests that string out to single file "We can't pass in dirty air!" segments when you get a long green flag run.

Do I have that right?

So, what's the verdict on the Gen6?

(Remember, you're not allowed to criticize the product, lest you get fined by NASCAR.)

So far, it's just chunks of raw meat in a crock pot and a bunch of spices.  I usually make a very gringo version with ground hamburger meat, but I am trying shredded beef tonight for the first time.  Got some family coming over to eat later today.  I'll consider it a success if no one gets food poisoning.

A lot of pit strategy right now.  It'll be interesting to see how it plays out.

Well my verdict would be to replace them with big blue super birds but we certainly don't want the drivers to be exposed to any type of danger nowadays.

Two tires and fuel for Kes. Debate over radio betwn Brad and Paul over whether to pit. "Big risk if we don't. Could end up 28th," Wolfe said

@dcaraviello
Kes: "I don't know, man. I really don't want to pit." Eventually Roger Penske came over radio: "We've got to pit," he said. End of debate.

One of the many things I love about Mark is how much FUN the guy has racing.  I'm sure that's why he compromised on the part time - he gets to race the tracks he loves and he does well for his team, almost always in the top 15 or better.

This is the defendant, Joey Logano. He was behind Mark Martin for much of the end of the race. Mark ran out of fuel, and he passed him to win the race at Michigan. He believes he did nothing wrong. He is accused of, A SHODDY RIM JOB.

Hmm. If old man Martin takes the SHR offer, that might be the setup for a job there next year (assuming sponsorship can be found -- he did have GoDaddy Sponsorship for a while.)

But if that's not a thing likely to pan out, he has more of a chance of getting that career-capping win at MWR for the rest of the season.
