I think you are right.  Many of them are of the so-called collector type.  A man who worked in the same office as I did at NOAA had gigs and gigs of stuff, and admitted he hadn't even watched all of it just wanted the complete sets.  I think there are many of that type.

I really hate having to keep debunking this. The whole thing came down to the fact that he and a bunch of other people visited a website that randomly displayed a ad link to another website that contained kiddie porn. None of them actually visited the kiddy porn site itself yet in their over zealousness the Brit police went overboard and slung accusations around like a farm fertilizer spreader slings shiat. The result 2 people committed suicide and a whole host of others had their names dragged trough the mud without a shred of real evidence. Welcome to your police nanny state.

There are all types of OCD that go into areas of harm. Harm OCD, which can include obsessive thoughts of harming yourself and others. Homosexuality OCD--obvious. Pedophilia OCD. The people with it don't want to do bad things but are worried they will.

Cops provide limited information to the media to make the arrested person look as bad as possible. The media forwards it on. Assuming there is a seed of truth to it, could be anything from old traci lords movies to sick pedo stuff.

"At the time of his arrest, Townshend admitted using his credit card to visit a web site offering child porn, but told cops he was just conducting research. Along with being placed on the sex offender registry, the performer had to submit a DNA sample to police and have his fingerprints and mug shot taken. As part of his "research project," Townshend drafted the below six-page treatise on the easy availability of child pornography on the Internet. So easy, in fact, that Townshend, 57, wrote that he accidentally discovered a photo of a two-year-old boy being raped when he typed the words "Russia," "orphanages," and "boys" into a search engine. Townshend claimed that he reached for his telephone and "intended to call the police and take them through the process I had stumbled upon--and bring the pornographers involved to [jail]," but that he decided not to contact authorities after discussing the issue with an attorney. here is a quote from ol Pete.

"Mick is the only man I've ever seriously wanted to fark. He was wearing loose pyjama-style pants without underwear; as he leaned back I couldn't help noticing the lines of his cock laying against the inside of his leg, long and plump. Mick was very clearly well-endowed." Later, Townshend writes of a groggy encounter with his friend, rock'n'roll impresario Danny Fields: "I was deeply tired but couldn't sleep, so Danny gave me a pill, probably a Mandrax, a sedative-hypnotic drug. I woke in the night, still in a trance, with Danny's hands all over my body, but I didn't fight him off. I enjoyed what he did, though I didn't let him actually fark me."

Using the same old excuse for years.   Dude cleary has issues.

So easy, in fact, that Townshend, 57, wrote that he accidentally discovered a photo of a two-year-old boy being raped when he typed the words "Russia," "orphanages," and "boys" into a search engine. Not always, there's a show I enjoy called the First 48 and one of their cases was solved because they left one of the suspects with her phone. The interview rooms are all wired for sight and sound, they had her on the phone making incriminating statements. Led to the murderer (she set up the murder tho). It was in Florida.

Dunno what the policies are in what departments but seems a very useful tool in limited situations.

This is some real farm league crap right here.  You guys need to start off reasonable and slowly ramp up the troll as you go.  That's how the game works.  I expect better from the two of you.

So let's see you do better. What's up with all the people trying to rate posts when they're not even trying themselves? Instead of criticizing, how about just demonstrating what you think should be said or done. If your strategy is as good as you think it is, then why not do it instead of criticizing others? I've found that it's much easier to just say what you think needs to be said instead of trying to get others to do it for you.

Resident Muslim: Genevieve Marie: I think that quite possibly helps prove the idea that pedophilia has some OCD elements to it.

Having dealt with a handful of folks attracted to non-legal adults, the reason/compulsion varies, some are monsters and need the power trip, others didn't fully mature, or played with like-aged people as kids, so they related/nostalgise it. Regardless of the mental connection; it seems to manifest ocd ish elements across the board yes

, hoarding and binge sleeping/not sleeping, etc seem to run in tandem. Another would download lolicon in buckets, then feel repulsed and delete it out of guilt, and a few weeks later spend hours repeating this process. He recgonized it's interuptions but said at times the compulsion was of such magnitude that he felt like he would explode if he didn't try to fulfill the desire.

There has to be some sort of compulsive element. Normal adults do not look at children as potential mates. (Except highschool teachers but there is an argument that kids in highschool are sexually mature)

Agreed, but the attitude towards [real] pedos is so hateful, the criminal justice legal system doesn't give a fark about why. They are out to just punish these sick f**ks and really don't care why.

\Not that I have too much empathy for them either, but it would be nice if some people could figure out why and stop the behavior, and maybe stop much of it from being passed on.

7,250 suspects were identified, 4,283 homes searched, 3,744 arrests, 1,848 charged, 1,451 convictions, 493 cautioned and 140 children removed from suspected dangerous situations and an estimated 33 suicides.
In the US 100 people were charged from the 35,000 US access records available
The most common criticism was that they failed to determine whether or not the owners of credit cards in Landslide's database actually accessed any sites containing child porn.
When the police checked, seven years after Operation Ore commenced, they found 54,348 occurrences of stolen credit card information in the Landslide database.
In other words in the US the visits to the site were actually investigated properly, in the UK you were assumed to be guilty.
In the US 35,000 suspects identified, 100 charged (no figures on how many convicted)
In the UK 7,250 suspects identified, 1,848 charged, 1,451 convicted
This with the background of 54,348 occurrences of stolen credit card information being used.
Yeah, I think it sounds really likely the UK investigations were fair, honest, and above board.

I hate kiddyfiddlers as much as the next guy, but this operation was a witch hunt and not a legitimate operation.

Torrent clients for android have been available for years. You can configure them to only run when WIFI is on if you're worried about bandwidth or storage space. And of course torrent isn't only used for large files or illegal content.
