Ariel Helwani  @arielhelwani
Q: what are you going to do with Alistair? Dana: I don't know. Browne: you're welcome.

Klippoklondike: Sorry I missed it guys, I'm down in Grand Rapids for a wedding.  Looks like a good night of fights.  Sad Shogun lost, but glad Matt Brown won.

Shame on you!

Sorry it took me so long, congrats Klippo!

Holy crap, can't belive I won, lol.  Thanks sir!

Again, sorry I missed out on most of the thread.  An old friend of mine got married tonight, and it was a 7 hour drive just to get here 15 minutes before it began.  In the hotel now.

Looks like some awesome fights happened tonight.

That's why I'm getting married on a Thursday night. I hope TUF isn't on.

Tuf is on Wednesday's if I'm not mistaken.

Overeem is overdone two flash KO's in two fights, he's gonna be Lesnar'd.

Hopefully, Dana's noncommittal answer means they are cutting him. Usually, if they are keeping a guy around after a loss, Dana will vocally back his fighter.

Since joining the UFC, Alistair Overeem retired the company's all time biggest PPV draw, pissed hot and scrapped a title fight, talked a bunch of shiat towards Bigfoot only to get comically KTFO, and managed to get knocked out by Travis farking Browne even after being gifted illegal knee shots by the most incompetent ref in the sport.

Overeem is a cancer on MMA. Let him go to Bellator so we can see Bjorn Rebney promote a fight against Rampage as the biggest fight of all time.

Ehh Lesnar was on the way out when Overeem broke him. His previous fights showed he couldn't take a punch, he wasn't going to win the title again.

IIRC, he had pretty much retired before the fight and hadn't fought in a year or so or had one fight in the last two years or something... I think it was one of those where they were using the star on his way out to give the guy coming in some quick cred. Not white knighting Overreem, though. He's a douche.

Orgasmatron138: Overeem has been getting KO'd for years.  Either he has a glass jaw, or he's been hit too many times.  Either way, his best days are behind him (especially now that he knows he's under PED scrutiny), and he isn't going to be UFC champ anytime soon.

Fun fact: Overeem has been KO'd or TKO'd by Little Nog, Fabbricio Werdum, Shogun Rua, and Chuck Liddell.

You left out Sergei Kharitonov.

Yeah Lesnar couldn't run back to WWE fast enough following the loss to Overeem. Easier playing a monster than having to worry about getting hit in the face for real.

Overeem is still a douche and dumb, I think it was Bas Rutten who called out after he lost to Big Foot he's stopped keeping his block up and paid for it. And once again tonight same thing. I wonder if they'll give him a title shot anyway.

Chael winning at least means an interesting WWE style heel who can shockingly win with authority against not quite champions is still playing around for the time being.

Pretty sure Vitor, too.

He actually beat Vitor twice. He did tap to strikes against Arona, however.

One Bad Apple: ZeroCorpse:

1. I HATE anime and manga, so f♥ck you and your "witty" swipe.

2. I'm in my 40s, so f♥ck you with that "kid" bullshiat. (Didn't I say I stopped watching when the Gracies were dominating UFC? What was that? 25 years ago?)

3. BOXERS seem to be fully capable of having an entire match without ending up on the ground. I never did, anyway, when I was doing it (tell me again how I don't understand any martial arts, by the way.) Kickboxers also manage to fight several rounds without grappling on the canvas. I'm pretty sure all the karate matches I saw ended without anyone wrapping his legs around the other guy's head, too.

If you like to watch wrestling, that's fine. They should stop calling it MMA and start calling it wrestling, because that's what it comes down to. Maybe the ground fighters DO dominate, but that doesn't make it fun to watch.

1) OK you're not an anime fanboy. You're a bandwagon zombie craze nutrider. That's actually worse but someone might admire your bravery for admitting it..

2) I'm 43. Get off my lawn. The Gracies introduced the UFC to a US audience in 1993. I highly doubt you were a Vale Tudo fan before that and even if you were you might have noticed that grapplers STILL dominated.

3) Back in the days when MMA was mostly style vs style boxers and kickboxers showed up and got embarrassed. The krotty guy only stayed on his feet until the grappler decided different. Even when 2 strikers fought each other it ended up on the ground because they would tangle up and trip.

I will say you don't know f*ck all about fighting Your martial arts prolly consisted of some strip mall McDojo ninja wannabe training. While you're impressing us all with your blackbelt mill credentials you might as well throw in some stories about your time in the marine "core"

If seeing a slick submission or an escape does nothing for you stick to watching Hollywood movies. Reality isn't your thing, snowflake.

It's harder for me to participate in the UFC threads in summer, but I can say this: one of you knows your shiat, one of you doesn't know shiat. I'm taking the bad apple in my corner. FWIW.

Been gone for 3 days to Glacier National Park. No tv, no phone, the good life.

My first impressions from the first Fox Sports 1 show:

LOVE the low, mat level camera angle. Adds something special (IMO) to understanding close in ground game fighting.

Overeem is over. Won't miss him a bit.

So much for banding someone straight out of TUF "the next great fighter". Congrats Dana. You got to back pedal so fast, you nearly fell over.

Lastly, got to watch a grizzly bear chase a mountain goat mama and it's baby across a glacier at 7000 (well, 6696) feet. Straight out of Planet earth. The baby ran down the sheerest cliff you can imagine, while the mama led the grizzly away. Totally amazing.
