(Daily Mail)   Moyes is already whining like SAF, Wenger has spent £80 on a wheelie bin and stale chips, and the Special One is already stirring the pot. Colour me chuffed, it's the start of the 2013/14 English Premier League season   (dailymail.co.uk ) divider line

Nasri Is A Scorer.
Sorry Arsenal fans.

Oh come on. Out of all the City players, him? Fark.

I'm not even emotionally invested in this match, and I need a drink.

There's very little shame in losing to a loaded team, don't get too down on your side, son.

I went head over heart FFPLwise for this one. Not this emphatically though.

best part is that suarez may actually be figuring out that we can survive just fine without him. funny how your attitude changes when the team can win without you.

I know it's Newcastle but...that's definitely not the Citeh that Mancini had.

Thinking about it, has Newcastle even shot on target?

That's the thing, Arsenal's got good players just a) not enough of them and b) they have crap siding next to them in the starting XI.

in ten mins its done and dusted and a tough away game gone. Mackems lost at home to Fulham.

Might loosen the old chequebook. I'll take £20m for Cabaye. Be disappointed if he threw a wobbler over the Arsenal bid.

Gift blown call.

And outside of Aspas, I don't think LFC have actually bought any of other 4,893 players they're still linked to since the window opened. Sounds like if Willian goes elsewhere, Arda Turan is ours unless Rodgers falls asleep.

Just one more quality addition on the wings or up front, and even without Suarez that's a really solid front set.

Krul saves, Flag clears it!

And the ref blew that call badly. Sucks for Negredo.

And Arsenal might just be out of the UCL anyway, based on Saturday's performance.

they did buy luis alberto, who i am intrigued by. but yes, one more would really be the icing on the cake.

almost makes me wish that we had sold him for gobs of cash, and could now mock his fate. almost.

Chelsea and Man Utd are saying "Thank you, Krul" for keeping it at only 4-0

so there you have it, citeh goes top of the table on gd. i'm ok with this. not my optimal choice, but as long as it ain't the manchester team that's not really from manchester.

Yes, definitely would be nice to add one more on the wing or up front to really make us strong up there. But I'm not expecting anything more from Rodgers.

On the Sky Sports pregame for the Man City-Newcastle match, their newest pundit Jamie Carragher delivered the line of the weekend (quoted by the EPL Talk open thread): "The only ones who seem to be spending at Arsenal...are the fans. They pay the highest ticket prices in the league."

This might top it.

In a direct conversation with Dick Law, Arsenal's contract negotiator, it is understood that Newcastle owner Mike Ashley responded to the offer for Cabaye with the words: "Which part of him do you want to buy?"

ADubs86: ADubs86: Pellegrini took the captaincy away from Kompany and gave it to Navas. Ouch, that's got to bruise one's ego. Lead them to a league title two years ago, lose your job to a guy that just got there.

No, wait, Navas is wearing a VC armband. Not the new captain. Weird decision that.

MARTIN TYLER!

That was almost 1-0 to City twice there. Newcastle's back line looking six and sevens as they say.

Nope, the Armbands were worn to honour Bert Trautmann, the City legend who died recently.

Good work for the guy doing the subtitles.

Cheer up Newcastle fans, the league has Hull, Cardiff and Stoke in it so you have a good chance of avoiding relegation.

I'd be happy with Hull and Cardiff dropping, meaning both will stay up. Reason to worry.
