(Daily Mail)   Moyes is already whining like SAF, Wenger has spent £80 on a wheelie bin and stale chips, and the Special One is already stirring the pot. Colour me chuffed, it's the start of the 2013/14 English Premier League season   (dailymail.co.uk) divider line 728

We deserved better than 1-0, but I'll take the win. Thank you, Simon for saving our ass.

Langston: noblehammer16: Hello everybody!

I knew he was going that way when they showed the graphic.

Welcome back! Hey, updating my farkies for this season and I have you tagged as "West Ham?" Is that your team or am I way off?

'Til I die!!!

I had Pool 2-0 Stoke so only 10 points for me even though this week doesn't count.

2013-08-17 09:40:30 AM
Liverpool played great and deserved that win. Stoke surprised me with their work rate, though. Is it just me or does Stoke seem to be playing more technical? Fewer long balls than I was expecting, much better passing and positioning than I thought.

Props to both keepers in the Liverpool/stoke game. Some classy saves.

Begovic performed better, but Mignolet impressive after he warmed to the game.

NBC already better than Fox for actually showing manager interviews.

Nuts to that~!

God, really don't want to hate on Arsene but...jeez, you agree personal terms with Higuain but don't even give Real a sniff?!  UGH!

If you guys want, I'll act as the impartial intermediary to guarantee the prize and collect the money if everybody agrees. It'll be an honor system, still, but I'll put my name on the line to make sure it happens for you guys.

I will be a benefactor. How about a team shirt for the winner's club? Second place gets a set of steak knives.

3rd place?

I don't know about third, but I have it on good authority that 4th place gets a trophy.

I've loved their coverage so far. They started it off really well with their intro programs the last couple weeks.

NBC is already blowing away Fox and Espn with their coverage. They're not disappointing at all.

I honestly have no idea which game I want to watch at 10.  Thanks, NBC, for the choice!  (F*** Fox Sports.)  Guess I'll switch between Arsenal and rooting for Fulham.

Farkies need to post their teams.  Some people I have some, I don't.  Wanna make sure I've got them right

Which I am totally fine with because I think Sky Sports does a wonderful job covering matches.  Personally I have been extremely happy with NBC so far.  I don't think there has been a downside yet.

I'm Newcastle (yay for waiting until the game is on during work on Monday, blech).

StRalphTheLiar: So apparently Dish has decided not to carry the overflow channels after all, so instead of "every match live" I'll be getting 2 matches live just like the old days. Oh well.

And on top of that the Android app doesn't work at all. So it looks like I can only watch from home after all, and only the one game currently on. What a disappointment this new deal is quickly becoming.

I feel bad for Begovic, he deserved better*. I'll take a 1-0 start to the season though, thank you very much.

The stream now works for me.  If you are using Incognito in Chrome it won't work, but just switch to the normal chrome window and it works.  In case anyone was having an issue.  I haven't tried the android app yet, but I'm already extremely happy with everything NBC has offered.

I woke up a little late and caught the replays; both keepers were making some DAMN lovely saves.

I had my annual pre-season wall of text written, but then I read it back and realised it was crap (and when even I think my own stuff is crap...). So I deleted most of it. Just wanted to say this:

One of the issues raised about Moyes is that he has a poor away record against the top teams. This misses the point on two counts. Firstly, Sir Alex didn't have a great record against the top teams (lost three of the last four against City since they became good, lost regularly at Anfield (and the occasional 1-4 at home), and had a horrendous record at Stamford Bridge since Abramovich became manager). Despite this, Sir still managed to be quite successful. And secondly, only United (5) and City (6) lost fewer games than Everton (7) last season, yet the Toffees finished 6th, 26 points behind the champions. An inability to consistently beat the likes of Southampton, Fulham and Aston Villa will cost United more than an inability to win away at City, Liverpool and Chelsea. It is that killer instinct that I think Moyes lacks. I'll be delighted if he proves me wrong.

It was fun while it lasted, but third is the new first.

Tried the Android app and it was wonky at best.

Couple of other things:

Stoke offering free travel to away fans for the season is commendable. And undoubtedly frowned upon by lots of other PL clubs.

The Coventry situation is disgusting.

Quarter shirt kits come off well with the right colors...claret isn't a good color.

I think maybe if the socks weren't so aggressively striped...

Sunderland well on top to start, but haven't tested Steklenburg yet.  Looks like Jozy and his midfield still need some time to gel.

Not for that. When matched with the sky blue it looks pretty good most of the time.

A solid sock would do a lot for the look
