That's funny because up until a few days ago, she thought PBS was that thing girls got before their periods.

Downton Abbey; Call the Midwife. All the hot actresses are on PBS.

If PBS ran Bob Ross, This Old House, New Yankee Workshop, and the Woodwright's Shop 24/7 I wouldn't change to another channel..

I think my favorite PBS show recently has been this travel show this morning they were in Venice. I also like this set of documentaries they have been doing about DC in the 50,60,70 and 80s. Watching them is amazing to see how much things change and how much they dont.

My favorite bits are when a TV network is called x, and then air stuff that absolutely isn't x.  Take the History Channel.  Pawn Stars actually fits, because a lot of stuff they show them buying are actual antiques (civil war guns, coins from the 1700's, etc.), and they make at least a token effort to explain the history of the item.  But what the fark do Ice Road Truckers have to do with history?

Call me weird, crazy, and/or stupid but I think Honey Boo Boo is going to end up being far more normal than the Kardashian girls.

Kaiser Blade: Nova

Nova, Nature, and Frontline are pretty much pure distilled awesomeness.

Can they do something about that execrable pledge week programming now?

I can only take so much of those unnarrated helicopter tours over Italy and the all-stars of doo-wop concerts and David Carradine teaching white people to do tai-chi with the help of a bent plastic pipe that you too can have with your $60 annual pledge.

This is the first positive thing she's done since her failed campaign as John McCain's running mate.

Add in American Woodshop with Scott Phillips and I'm there.  Scott lives about 2 miles from me and is a really nice guy and about 6'5".

(Remembers wistfully when Bravo and A&E used to broadcast actual performing arts programming, like opera, ballet, and Shakespeare.)

They have marketers and advertisers to thank, same as those who took the music out of MTV.

And most republicans don't hate PBS its an appeal to the lowest common denominator who votes, there is no weight behind any threats.

I gave up on cable years ago. Used to be good, now it's all crap. All I have now is over the air (Welfare TV). In Philly we have PBS channels 12.1 (regular PBS), 12.2 (Y Arts), (Create TV), 12.3 (Y Info), 35.1 (local PBS), 35.2 (Japan NHK), 35.3 (France 24) 35.4 (RT, the America sucks channel) and 52.1 (Jersey PBS). I'm all set. Got the woodworking shows, This Old House, Gardening shows (P. Allen Smith, Victory Garden, etc., tons of Nova, documentaries, etc. All the stuff cable used to provide. Comcast can suck it.
