F*ck you, A-Rod. F*ck you and your pathetic attempt to distract baseball from your career-long violation of the spirit of baseball.

I'll be the happiest person in the world if I never see this piece of human debris' name in print ever again.

May he be ostracized and shunned from the sport and never heard from, or about, again.

No, this is extraordinary Yankee douchebaggery, George Steinbrenner-level stuff.

By the time his appeal is heard he's already going to be working on a lifetime ban and possible prison sentence.

Throwing your own teammate under the bus.  That's cold, dude.

He deserves a lengthy suspension, I'm thinking 3 or even 5 games.

His lawyers and MLBPA may be correct that the 211 game suspension is arbitrary and unjustified by a first offence PED violation.  However, if he did impede/obstruct MLB's investigation, then he should have been permabanned by the Commissioner.  I understand Selig not wanting to trigger a confrontation with the players...and maybe having them ALL appeal their suspensions...but evading the issue and postponing any resolution on ARod until November is more damaging to baseball than a dozen other juiced players finishing the season.

Baseball has the Mendoza Line for futility at the plate.  I propose a Canseco Line for futility in being a human being.  Arod just dipped below the Canseco Line

I don't get the outrage over this. You want the sport clean, A-Rod is helping you clean it up. He should get time off his suspension for helping MLB catch those others.

What Selig is hoping for is that the long, slow drip of A-Rod's actions turns the players so against A-Rod and steroid users that the players demand stiffer punishment in the offseason.

Their careers parallel scarily, right down to both dating Madonna. I'm just waiting for a ball to bounce off A-Rod's head and over the fence for a homerun.

It's not the Jewish gangs he should worry about (they probably want to disown Braun after his lying). A-Fraud is about to go into Fenway Park, into that tiny visitors clubhouse with teammates who now know that he'll throw "his brothers" under the bus to protect himself. Oh, and the Red Sox don't like him either.

Baseball needs to just give Bud Selig A-Rod a lump-sum payoff, and tell him he's not welcome any more. As much for his own safety as for the "integrity" of the game.

It is most definitely NOT A-Rod's job to obtain the documents and leak them to the media, in fact it is a direct violation of the confidentiality agreement as it relates to the JDA.

That's not cooperating or helping MLB in any way when he would have had every opportunity to come clean when he was interviewed as part of their investigation.

When A-Rod's first steroid scandal broke a few years ago, he was asked on TV if he would have wanted the other 100 or so names on that list, which were supposed to remain confidential, to be released.  He said no, because he didn't want others to go through what he was going through - and I gave him credit for that.  I really wish I were surprised by this, and I wish I knew whether he was just lying through his teeth back then, or if he's done a complete 180 since then.  Probably the former, le sigh.

Im trying to say every team has (likely way more than) at least one juicer. So them hating on the biogenesis bunch is stupid. Hell, the drug tests didn't catch the guys (other than Braun, Colon and Cabrera). Juicing is really common in the MLB and them hating the guys that got busted while loving David "I'll find the real juicer, I promise" Ortiz is pathetic.

Think about this: many said that Braun was pulling a Lance Armstrong when he accepted his suspension. I'd argue that what A-Fraud is doing is going full Lance and then some. And who would've thought that was even possible?

Did A-Rod try to ruin the careers of everyone around him for a decade before finally admitting to it?  Braun sort of tried but didn't really have the time.  That's what really makes Armstrong a bigger douche than the rest of them IMO.

The premature release of a player's name is a direct violation of the collective bargaining agreement.

I'm sure the rules prohibit players from doing this but they probably get a little fuzzy when you try to apply them to "inner circle" members.

This; can't believe that there's a time where I'll actively applaud for Fenway to boo the holy hell out of someone.

Yanks_RSJ: you have pee hands: So the other guys are Ok for cheating and A-Rod is a dirtbag for saying "Yeah, me, sure, but them too?"

I don't like A-Rod either but give me a farking break.

If that's true then A-Rod just made himself a target.  He just gave license to any pitcher to go high and tight after him knowing that his teammates won't even so much raise a yawn if he got beaned.

Super Chronic: The premature release of a player's name is a direct violation of the collective bargaining agreement.

I'm sure the rules prohibit players from doing this but they probably get a little fuzzy when you try to apply them to "inner circle" members.

He probably knew it too:  No one can charge that he did it if he can pass the buck to someone else.

Big Beef Burrito: Yanks_RSJ: thecpt: Yanks_RSJ: Wise_Guy: Wouldn't it be kind of hard for MLB to say he impeded an investigation if he provided them with names of other juicers?

That's not what he did.

I can't get this timeline straight. Did he rat on the players before he told every kid he met at the burn ward that Santa isn't real, or was it after he flashed a pic of naked 60 year old Madonna at a press conference which caused an effect similar to the pie eating contest in stand by me?

He also gives out apples to trick-or-treaters.

He also talks during movies.

Then he'll break into your house at night and wreck up the joint

Is this the thread where I'm supposed to be mad because sentimental sportswriters stuck in the 1950s think the 'sanctity' of pro baseball has been violated? Because me and 95% of the public couldn't care less about whether pro athletes use PEDs. More power to them. It might make baseball actually interesting.

Love the hypocrisy of the baseball writers on this one; the same lot who a) said "UH, Andro?!  T-that's just a supplement.  Yeah, that's it!" when McGwire got caught and then eviscerated the guy who saw the jar.

Assclowns.

Or how they fawn over Aaron's record, even though Aaron was using greenies (a PED).

Just watched A-Rod's first at-bat in Fenway. I figured the crowd would be louder. I was hoping for a standing boovation.

One helluva week. Did that Ichiro grounder pull the 1st baseman off the bag? I thought so.

There is no difference since everyone is on steroids, too.

Remember: the Biogenesis bunch never tested positive (other than Braun, Cabrera and Colon). That means that they passed many, many tests. What faith does that put on the testing process? The only reason these guys got busted was because the owner of Biogenesis didn't pay back a loan, so the guy squealed. Otherwise, no one would know about this stuff. You really think that there are no other things going on right now?

If A-Rod threw out those names like he wasn't going to get punished, he's dumber than any human imaginable. So I'm going to go with the more likely story that this is BS to pressure A-Rod into just taking his suspension because MLB overstepped their bounds at every step on this.

You should've taken them and gone to the game for schadenfreude's sake.

I'm tempted to think A-Rod threw the names out just so he could take some other players down with him.  My estimate of his character has gotten that low.

So on the YES pregame yesterday A-Rod denied these allegations, but also said over the next few months there was going to be more and more stories like this one.  Sounds like he's going to be denying a lot of shady shiat.
