Seriously. People like to complain that kids should get special treatment just for being kids, but where the hell do they think entitled adults come from?

Half hour departure delay on a 6,000 mile flight is nothing to get upset about, especially in this situation.

2013-08-16 02:50:35 AM
If it hasn't taken off, I don't consider it "turning the plane around".

It's a nice story, but not really that big a deal. So the plane went back to the gate. Yawn.

Good for the kid, bad for those that have connecting flights.
But really, you have to send a kid thousands of miles? Evict a few Palestinians and build your own.

Because, you farkwit, THE PASSPORT WAS ON THE PLANE. As in the passport was going to America, but the girl was not, no matter what plane they tried to put her on.

Gasp. I can now breath again, having held my breath awaiting your opining on the technicalities of "turning the plane around" and other assorted mechanisms of allowing/promoting passengers boarding planes scheduled to move between airports.

Yeah, the way it was phrased I thought they were in the air and turned around, which would be unprecedented for an average joe.

Planes return to gates all the time. Look at the ad banners all over this story, it's obviously a sponsored human interest story meant to drum up donations.

/Cynical.
//I should have used the "But I have cancer!" line when I once got to my gate just as the plane's door closed.

The My Little Pony Killer has never hesitated from being an asshole.

In this case, since the passport was found in another kid's backpack, it's pretty clear Inbar did not lose the passport, but the staff doing the medical checkup before flight put it in the wrong backpack or gave it to the wrong kid.

Chances are The My Little Pony Killer didn't read the article or couldn't understand it.

Seconded. Isnt it really bad to land with a full oad of fuel ? why yes, yes it is. Reads the article. Oh. Yes, your little snowflakes all made the same flight out. Thanks for prolly messing with about 200 other airplanes who would be using that airspace in the timeframe who now had to wake up or stop playing angry birds and actually fly .

11 year old kid with cancer, and you think well, sure, let's put her on her own flight instead of the flight her friends AND camp staff and chaperones are on.

And you''re right, airline schedules are so tight and precise that a half hour delay on the ground can never be made up in the air, and one plane on the ground will mess up 200 other airplanes.

Some reason why the group guides were letting the kids handle the passports before boarding? Nice the kid made it on, but those passports should have been ready to present for the kids.

...The pilot's additional threats throughout the flight of, "Be quiet back there or I'm turning this plane around and you're all going home!" had additional weight.

I dont get the pic, but- sure there is flexability to many routes, but this was to NY and that airspace is crowded and they allocate certains parts of the sky to certain craft at certain times.
I dont really care about any of this, but I would hate to get arrested, again, for having to pee due the landing being delayed because some aircraft now HAS to land on front of my plane because they made a mistake on their end.
Yes, I got arrested for disobeying the order of the flight crew because we got delayed and I couldnt hold it anymore and didnt feel like peeing myself when the head was 5 meters away.

This kid has cancer, so she probably won't live to be an entitled adult. In this case, the airline did the right thing.
