I used to work with a guy who's wife was a country vet.  If he needed antibiotics or prescription pain meds, she'd prescribe him the horse variant.

2013-08-15 03:49:19 PM
Have they not taken an animal to the vet before? Those farkers are ripoffs. I'd much rather take my dog to urgent care. More and more they are treating your animal like a car which they won't touch unless they can verify the normal maintenance (wellness visits) is maintained. If you go in for an emergency, they'll charge you for all services you missed and roll it into the emergency.

I mean really, I brought my dog in for an xray of his knee because of an injury. He isn't here to make sure he is well. We know he isn't. Fix his damn knee and stop pushing this feel good crap on me. Petting my dog is not giving him an exam. Making him get on the scale isn't worth an added $50 fee.

If that care is good enough for me, it's good enough for my dog.

Yeah I hate vets. I love my dog though so what are you going to do?

/Oh and don't get me started on them overfeeding my dog treats and breaking his diet. Dirty assholes, the lot of them.

There is no direct connection between the vet and the "victim," according to the news story.

The vet gave some woman ointment. The woman gave the ointment to her neighbor when he complained of something similar to what the lady's dog had.

This guy is going to lose his veterinary license because some farktard self-diagnosed.

I would be outraged if I actually gave more of a shiat about people I don't know.

Weird.  I'm giving my cats insulin marketed for humans (all insulin is chemically the same) because it's cheaper than the vet stuff.  I thought that was generally the case with human products vs. vet products.

Why the hell not?

For basic first aid and emergency issues your vet has more training than your doctor.

Yeah, I dont know when it became popular be we had quite a few ods and med interactions with people taking their pets meds a few years ago and still happens occasionally, doggy anxiety being the biggest thing people must take their dogs for

Yeah if your girlfriends cat ever has a kidney stone you learn quickly how much money vets cost.  couldnt convince her that a .22 was cheaper and more humane

$10 for the vet to pull a tooth, or $600 for an oral surgeon. You do the math.

Did you try a sack and a large rock? At least she then gets a romantic walk down by the river.

I'd go to a vet if I had to. They deal with all types of animals. But at the end you probably get a dog biscut instead of a lollypop.

My brother needed surgery, but we both were broke
So I took him to the veterinarian as a joke
I never heard him complain; he never made a peep
So I figured "what the hell" and had him put to sleep!

As of a few years ago and as far as I know now, vets could prescribe anything for their immediate family. And not the horse variant.
Kept me in pain meds for several years. Tylenol 4, hydrocodone and percocet.

I thought about doing it the last time i had pink eye.  I had pink eye before, I knew it was farking pink eye, but I had to pay $120 to get a prescription.  A vet could probably have done it for $40.
