What are they going to do, make it less accurate?

Is CNN reporting that police now have five of the internets in custody?

The only institutions that could come under cyber attack and have me LESS upset would be Bank of America and Goldman-Sachs.

Definitely.  I mean, the media sucks in this country, but who is driving the media and making sure the stories are sensationalized enough to keep people hooked?

Seriously good work, Basemetal.

What's funny is that the main effect of hacking journalists' twitter accounts will be stock drops caused by the investment banks' algorithms not being able tot tell an obvious prank tweet from a real one.

"For hackers of all stripes, the "goals could be to draw attention to their cause and to embarrass U.S. media companies or the U.S. itself," King said. "But really, the truly frightening issue - and why it's so crucial for journalists to be aware of these issues - is that they're going after sources. They're going after unpublished work product that is incredibly sensitive in many cases." "

Fark Bonus points: Our own government is doing this to create a chilling effect against future whistleblowers leakers approaching the mainstream media.

Ultra Fark: In the interest of national security, we'll have government security experts embedded at all media outlets, "to prevent future incidents."

Ohhhh, it took me a second guys. See, he said "viable source", which these media outlets aren't. Thus, we can't actually give him examples. Shucks.

/Fark the media. Right in its rear.
