I have several of the Censored 11 on VHS. Turner Classic issued them (in error) as part of a boxed set.  They were deleted in later editions of the set when they saw the error of their ways.

They missed two more South Park episodes that needed to be listed, Episode 200 and 201 are banned from airing. They are the most, and best, episodes of South Park because everyone missed the farking point they were making when the episodes got banned.

Plus, the episode of South Park on the list is shown often and is available on their site.

I have a vhs of three Disney cartoons. One is about a sports car that gets replaced with a newer car and becomes sad (seems like the inspiration for Cars), one of a goofy looking bear and a park ranger going at it (much like Yogi) and then the other one is Donald duck dreaming that he's a Nazi. Not offensive but just Wtf worthy for a kid to have on vhs.

Hey, I saw the nazi Donald episode. It was actually pretty funny, aside from the inherent bizarreness of seeing Donald as a nazi.

slightly off track, Song of the South is a full length animated movie.

don't forget the Bugs Bunny Nazi cartoons

For those who haven't seen it, he isn't dreaming of becoming one but having a nightmare that he is one. Then he wakes up, says "Da fuq was that?" And then an American flag flies over and he realizes America is cool. The end.

I saw Angel Puss somewhere during my childhood.  Don't know where, but back then (the 1980s) they still ran Tom & Jerry with Mammie in them, and I know they aired some of the weirder WB cartoons, like the Bugs Bunny one with the gremlin, which makes no sense unless you know the context (it's a parody of a Disney short which was based on a story by Roald Dahl which coined the term).

I think there's actually several in the bear/park ranger series, and they're all terrible.

The Donald one is famous: it's "Der Fuhrer's Face"; I never saw it as a kid, but it's on a great Disney DVD collection of WWII propaganda films now.  It was done because Walt really liked the Spike Jones song, which was a huge hit at the time.

Lol, the Japanese offended by big boobs.

Used to have a vhs with a lot of banned cartoons. Mostly war propaganda and cartoons with African american stuff.
Coal Black and de sebbin Dwarfs is less hurtful to the AA community than anything the Way and brothers have done.

There are others as well not on the list.  When my daughter was a lot smaller I was in the habit of buying cheapo DVD cartoon compilations from Wal-Mart....they cost about $1 per disc.  These discs included lotsa cartoons from the 40s, most of which I'd never seen, and many of them were *unreal* racist.  Not sure how or why they are there, but there they were nonetheless.  For instance:

Bugs Bunny vs Steppin' Fetchit (every negative stereotype in the book)
Numerous shorts with crows representing African Americans (with *many* references to stereotypes)
Raggedy Ann "Suddenly It's Spring" (find it easily-Google) with RA asking the elements for help, among them a "black cloud" with all the negative stereotypes intact
And more...

A common theme in these shorts was to depict these characters to be extremely lazy.

IIRC, during one of the Cartoon Network's June Bugs events, they omitted one short with BB vs an Eskimoe, and I believe they said it was because BB called him a "big baboon".  I've seen that short several times over the years, and it's *nothing* as compared to the shorts mentioned above.

Anyone got suggestions how to get these banned episodes. I particularly interested in the Betty Boop ones as they sound like real fun. :-)

To begin  with get off my lawn.

I remember watching most of the "bad" cartoons when I was a kid.  Lots of stereotypes, violence etc...  Sometime in the late 70's early 80's is when they stopped showing them IIRC.  You could still buy them but the local TV stations stopped showing them.  The newer ones where made for the WTF value and the producers were tying to see what they could get away with.

This pic is from a cartoon included in a Tom and Jerry DVD set containing all their shorts with content considered unacceptable by today's standards.  Whoopi Goldberg does the introduction to the set, saying that yes, the shorts are stereotypically rasict...but to deny their existence is to deny history.

Wait...that was a Droopy toon.  I don't recall if it was on the T&J set I referenced...will have to check.

Shadowtag: That South Park episode was just on the other night.

Yeah, the list in TFA was pretty good except for that one. All the others have actually been banned by at least the networks, but this one ended with the Catholic League demanding it be banned but getting completely ignored.

No mention of the Southpark episode where they caved to political pressures so as not to offend a bunch of ignorant radicals?

I remember back in the 1970's, two WB cartoons that repeated basically the same gag, once with Bugs and maybe once with Daffy.

It was your typical Bugs vs. Yosemite Sam and Sam was a Confederate soldier, trying to keep Bugs from crossing the Mason-Dixon line. At one point, Bugs grabs a whip and shoves it into Sam's hand, comes back wearing rag clothing and starts groveling on the ground begging "Don't beat me massah, don't beat this tired ol' body...no" and dashes off frame. He comes back dressed as Abraham Lincoln and says to Sam "What's this I hear about you whippin' slaves?"

It was called "Southern Fried Rabbit" and I have only seen it online, never on TV.

MBrady: slightly off track, Song of the South is a full length animated movie.

It's also well animated and not a bad movie, overall. The problem, and I agree with the criticism, is that it takes a very sensitive subject too lightly. It tried to teach racial harmony, but it came off as 'Hey, everything is really great and happy here between the dirt-poor black sharecroppers and the rich white kids whose families used to own the blacks.'

The animation is still gorgeous, and I think that if they changed the setting and tone of the live-action sequences, the animation could still be re-used.

Start with YouTube. I bet some kickass torrent site has some of them too. Risk of MPAA going after you for them is pretty low.

Nice list over all.  Honestly, you could also toss in, oh, about half of all anime due to violence or sex, sometimes both.

Yet Blue Gender some how got aired on TV, through Adult Swim, but still... That series is like a soft core porn when watching the edited version of it and even more so when watching the uncut version on Netflix.

God that Betty Boop one is a work of art. I haven't seen much old stuff that combined animation and live action that was THAT clean. It was perfect.

IIRC there was a poor white family that lived right down the road from the AA familys.  The oldest boy was a bully, maybe?  I think he picked on the rich kid because of his clothes?  It has been awhile since I've watched it.

CSB: I bought a bootleg DVD in an antique shop just outside Helen Ga. about a year or so ago while on vacation.  They had a whole stack of them.  Then I started seeing them in several of the antique stores in the area.
