The only time in this country that Christmas was banned and under attack was due to Christian puritan colonists.who saw it as an evil attack on everything God stands for. Can we stop this make believe crap that Christmas  is somehow under attack nowadays. It is ridiculous.

We may eventually reach the point where it's Christmas season 364 days out of the year, leaving one out for Easter.

That gives me the hilarious mental image of an assembly line of Virgin Mothers popping out baby saviors just in time to mount them on little tiny crosses.

As some other Farker said: if there's a war on Christmas, it's because Christmas fired the first shot.

I'm also drafting a bill for my local legislature.
It's to criminalize the theft and traffiking of stolen toenail clippings. Which of course, will be a felony and have a mandatory minimum sentance of 23.4 years in a maximum security facility.

2013-08-15 08:20:10 AM
Oh good, it's the time of year for me to hear from my in-laws about how people will sue you for saying Merry Christmas. Which is a thing that totally happened and not at all a good reason to roll my eyes at them.

Aarontology: Keep Christ in Christmas. Tell your children the truth about Santa.

One Christmas in Alabama when I was about 10, my cousins came bursting through the door on a Sunday evening to tell me excitedly how they don't do Christmas presents anymore because Santa is just Satan spelled differently.  That's how you do things when you're a worthless broke father, I guess.

Won't someone think of the poor, oppressed Christians of North Carolina?  A quick Google tells me they only make up 80% of the population. Their rights must be protected, stat!

If you click his name in the article and go through the archives you can get quite an interesting picture of this guy. Heere is my favourite bit:

Even before he was in office, Campfield was ejected from one of Jimmy Duncan's barbecues because he was harassing Phil Bredesen with a bumper sticker reading "Tax 'n' Spend Governor." A few years later he was ejected again, this time from a Vol football game for refusing to cooperate with a police officer who asked him to remove a "luchador" wrestling mask. More recently he drew national attention by opining that AIDS started with "one guy screwing a monkey."

Snatch Bandergrip: Christians intentionally adopt flagrantly objectionable policies because they think it makes them martyrs.

Well they strive to be like a guy who is pictured most times as being nailed onto a cross and who was depicted as being persecuted.  They pretty much go looking for a way to believe that they're being slighted.

Yada...yada....usual caveat that not every Christian has a persecution complex, some are decent people, etc.  If this is you then thanks for not being an arse.

That's nice and all but when are they going to do something about all this hamburger slapping?

Either someone needs to start putting these hamburger slapping punks in jail or we need to mandate some sort of minimum slappibility for hamburgers from now on.

I'm tired of eating pieces of slapped up hamburger for lunch!

Gordon Bennett: More recently he drew national attention by opining that AIDS started with "one guy screwing a monkey."

Two likely cause of AIDS jump from monkeys to humans: 1)degenerate perverts having sex with wild animals, 2) someone butcher bush meat to feed his family got exposed to the blood.  Like a Rorschach test it says a lot about which answer you see.

School House Rock should update the "I'm Just a Bill" song to include a part where a pundit outrages old people with TV infotainment in order to harass their congress person to submit crap laws.

A lady in the parking lot told me her child's hamburger had been slapped so hard that he's been trying to pass a "Merry Christmas Bill" every since.

OK. We'll tell all the children that Christmas is a pagan festival designed to celebrate the winter solstice.

I don't remember any of those stories, but I figure he must have made it onto Fark before, because I knew that "Stacy" wasn't a woman before I clicked.

I like to celebrate Christmas by burning a cross on the front lawn of a black church. Will this law allow me to do this? Actually, as a satanic Jew, I like to display the Star of David upside down. Nobody's noticed yet.

Did you know that Jesus Christ, the Messiah, was born on December 25, year zero, in a manger to a virgin mother and three kings followed a star to find him and pay him homage with incense and gold and Rudolph had a red nose?
