I know how to roll a perfect joint. Tight, but not too tight. Perfectly round. Solid filter.

At least I thought I knew how. According to this headline I don't.

Most people don't know a crack smoker personally, but all they have to do is watch TV or read the news and they get these images of black people on a crack rampage.

My image of crack addicts was a white relative who traded his car for a bit of crack and spent a week every few months in a binge usually preceded by him stealing or borrowing.

Glad to hear I was wrong about that happening.

My image of crack involves an ex-friend's older sister. She smoked it one night because they were out of weed and alcohol and she was bored.

Nah. Dave Chapelle still looked far to healthy to be a crack head.

Crack heads most often closely resemble meth heads.
Neither one eats much of anything that's even remotely nourishing, and they both pick at their faces, squeezing zits that aren't there, which is why they both often have many open sores on their faces.
It's from fidgeting. Tweekers fidget.

I'd be willing to bet I have ingested more acid, ephedrine, X, and opium than any of you.

I'm pretty sure everything I know about drugs is fairly spot on.

You? I'd bet a beer. You've been around Teh Fark longer than I have, long enough that I'm pretty sure you're not of the post-Dare crowd, so it's possible.

I didn't have you pegged as a regular to the florist, but I'll open with "I went to school in Boulder, named by Playboy as the best place in the country to buy acid, and X was legal when I was in high school..."

That's my opener. Upon reflection and considering the public nature of ye olde intertubes, I'm not sure I'm willing to show many more cards than that.

I grew up in WY. We used to make road trips to boulder and go home with sheets, many many sheets.

I have never met a black man who was a crack head.

I met a lot of black pot heads, but never any that did any hard drugs

I think drugs should be decriminalized.  Morality laws of any kind are idiotic.

That being said, here's a thought that will immediately eliminate the racial bias in the justice system for everyone subjected to it....

I have never seen a study that looked at that disparity and accoonted for prior criminal history, exact amount of drugs, and wealth.

UNC_Samurai: Can we at least get marijuana moved down to Schedule 2?  That would be a simple, and easily agreed upon start.

You'd think so, but the DEA is not receptive to your idea. You see, Marijuana is bad because it's a schedule 1 drug, and it's a schedule 1 drug because it's bad. You can't argue with logic like that.

My image of crack is leathery middle aged white people scuttling around my old neighborhood fighting and yelling at each other for no outwardly apparent reason even though they were all "friends" and hung out together every day.

My image of crack DEALERS were Ethiopian and Somali "businesspeople" who owned shops in the local mall.

I would bring Amber, she's always holding and gives road head

Old enough to remember the old TV "black crack epidemic", when acid was fun, and before meth was demonized and became the new crack

Well that would be nice, but I think a lot of industry would fight it tooth and nail.

The drug issue is pretty simple. Actually fight to overturn the laws in a legal fashion and don't just sit on the couch and complain about it. As we have seen in several states, it can be done. Until it is legal, don't break the law. All problems solved with no race, gender or age issues involved.

So people that take marijuana for medical purposes and can't relocate for whatever reason should just suck it up and not get their medicine?

I'll stop breaking the law when the law is made with rational and sound judgement instead of at the whim of a politician with an agenda.

Everything I know about drugs comes from reading WSB and HST, so I'm fairly certain it's accurate.

2013-08-15 08:29:54 AM
So we conducted experiments with human drug users, during which they could self-administer cocaine (or methamphetamine) or receive alternative reinforcers of $5 or $20. When we offered them $5 they chose the money on about half of the opportunities and drugs the other half. When the alternative was $20, they always chose the money.

Yeah, they take the 20 bucks so they can go buy more cocaine than what you were offering the second they get out of there.

I wish someone would pay me not to do drugs. I've been doing it all thi time for free. (except for those other times when I wasn't not doing drugs). Maybe we could start a new program where the government pays you not to do drugs. Like how they pay farmers not to grow anything,

If it is medicine, then it was prescribed by a doctor, so he is responsible for what he prescribes in that state and can be held accountable.

I had to take a "Health" class in college and read ahead in the "book" (overlong powerpoint printout they made us pay for) and found the slide on MDMA contained the old eats-holes-in-your-brain bullshiat that was blown out of the water as the Partnership For Drug Free America lying its ass off ten farkin years earlier. I ended up doing research on my own and bringing in eighty pages of printouts disproving the slide and going to battle with the teacher.

/we are adults stop lying to us

Then, seriously, if you get arrested you shouldn't complain. That should just gives more incentive to fight to change the laws you don't believe in.
