You know, the psychological community has really endorsed some life changing drugs that would really help him out.

No way in Fark I'm paying for a ticket to Ender's Game

OSC is a lunatic. A talented lunatic who can turn a phrase....but still a lunatic. And he apparently is a tea bagger, so there's that. Which is nice.

That's deranged.  Kind of scary really to know that there are lots of people that crazy running lose.

He's going to get the gangs to do his bidding, when "stop killing each other and the police won't mow you down" has been his bidding all along and yet has gone unheeded?  Sure, Mr. Card... sure.

He's actually about middle of the road far as tea baggers go. Most of them at flat out convinced Obama is a dictator and if you don't believe their insane ranting on the subject, well then you are a fool and deserve what's coming.

I don't get it. I really don't. The right wing just gets stranger and more insular every day.

It's amusing that these people think that living in 21st century is the same as a totalitarian dictatorship.

And by amusing, I mean pathetic as hell. Statements like these really show exactly how f*cking soft these people are and how little they actually value the lives of the people who are victims of actual tyranny.

To be fair, there is a black man in the White House. Really gets under their skin.

I have conservative friends who honestly believe that everything wrong in this country is ONLY the fault of Obama and the democrats. The GOP has done and can do nothing wrong. I find that worldview to be very tiresome.

2013-08-14 03:33:39 PM
This is about the fourth or fifth time during the Obama administration that I can recall right wingers breathlessly assuring me that race riots were coming.  All the way back in 2008 a certain PDX farker was insisting (cuz Rush told him so) that the DNC was going to make Chicago '68 look like a picnic because Obama would lose to Hillary and the blacks would be set off in an orgy of violence.

I don't care that these morons jack off to The Turner Diaries, but do they have to get their spooge all over the internet?

There's apparently a real fine line between "thought experiment" and "thought excrement"

Crazy, religious nutjob is crazy, religious. News at 11.

It just goes to show that sometimes you really don't want to know the person behind the work.

I'm trying really hard to separate the work from the Derp-a-don who created a book I still love.

But, damnitsomuch, he is making it really hard.

Yet DC Comics pays absolutely no attention to shiat like this while pimping him for "Adventures of Superman".

And they wonder why Marvel's kicking their ass.

I was giving Ender's Game a shot - started reading the book after I gave up on it years ago.

I see I was in error.  I wouldn't be able to finish it now if I tried.  I don't even like it.  Guy's got some weird ideas about little boys.

Seriously you guys, it sucked long and hard.

Obama is, by character and preference, a dictator.

Oh for goodness sakes.

I have heard people lauding Ender's Game for years.  Pretty sure I'm just going to skip the read and the movie.  What a whackadoo.

Oh good, another reason not to watch Ender's Game.

My childhood is destroyed. Heinlein turned into a right wing free capitalist libertarian, Orson Scott Card is a racist fascist, and Chuck Norris is batshiat insane.

I wish I could get morons like this to write down their predictions that are "100% going to happen" along with the date of the prediction, date of when it's going to happen, and then have them sign it in the presence of a notary.

If they're wrong on 90% of their predictions, they agree to STFU for life on all things political.

That's what gets me the most about these sorts of people.  It never occurs to be that they've been making these claims for years (in some cases, decades) and that they've been wrong on every damn prediction ever in their lives.

His theories sound like fanfiction of his own story, Hidden Empire. Which I really hope he knows is fiction. And Shadow Complex was a good video game, even if this guy's batshiat crazy.

Orson Scott Card is becom9ing the R. Crumb of Sci Fi. He's an American treasure and a genius at work, but in his spare time everyone would be better off if he kept to himself. It would help if his publisher maybe stopped demanding that he network with his fans or keep a blog. Perhaps they could tell him to take the JD Salinger route and become a hermit who makes them lots of money by shutting the fark up.

But mostly, we should keep in mind that media companies urge authors to to stay in constant contact with the public and it is their fault Orson is front and center. His editor and agent ought to be taking a ton of blame for this crap being in the spotlight.

First, there's "tin foil hat" crazy.

Then, there's "pants full of macaroni" crazy.

Finally, we have "lemon juice snorting, rinsing your eyes out with printer toner while squeezing a slice of sardine pizza between your butt cheeks" crazy.

Would someone please take the toner away from Mr. Card?

He circumvented Congress as soon as he got into office by appointing "czars" who didn't need Senate approval. His own party hasn't passed a budgetever in the Senate.

Ender's Game is a shiat book and people only remember it fondly because they were 9 when they read it.

OSC is a shiat author who cannot write to save his farking life.

Read this. It's the funniest shiat you'll see all day, and today includes like five of my posts.

The first weekend of the movie will be huge! It will attended by thousands of old white people bringing bags of Chick-fil-A while wearing George Zimmerman is my hero t-shirts.

No referring specifically to you.  But I adopted the phrase some time ago a nice stand in for severely paranoid conspiracy buffs.  Not from your posts, just my amusement at reading the phrase the first time.  No insult intended, as I would never want to compare anyone moderately sane to OSC.

Saw the preview for the movie. Wouldn't see the movie even if I didn't know this guy was trash.

One gigantic series of sci-fi cliches.
