farbekrieg: SenorBenedict: The Chargers got rid of Norm Turner and picked up the best pick of the draft in Manti Teo, they'll chase denver all the way to the finish.

notsureifserious.jpg

also Jamal Charles is legit, not in the same class as Adrian but that next tier of elite guys who you only suspect of using peds.

What do I have throw in a Brent Farve joke to make it more obvious? Come on I watched their third string get lit up by Tavaris Jackson, clearly the chargers have more holes in their game than Bernie Kosar's daughters had dicks in her.

rickythepenguin: robsul82: Jonathan Kraft called into local Boston radio to discuss injury - "I don't think it's serious, but I don't know."

I'm not a Patriot hater, so this isn't gloating, but.....in the event that Brady misses any games due to this injury, would there be any doubt this was the all time wrost NFL off-season? Welker, the Hernandez thing, the vaunted "patriot way" fiction being exposed, and then a possible injury?  Brady's no spring chicken, iether.  this is his 13th season.  he's an old man by NFL standards.  any injury is going to be harder to come back from.

You're asking me about shiatty offseasons?

Yeah wow I have no idea why I said Paul Mcguire, but yes Dan McQuire he got drafted by the hawks in the 90's I believe he even started a game or two much to everyone in Seattles eternal shame.

Worth noting that Dan McGwire was out of football by 1996...6 years before the Seahawks joined the NFC West.

Well I wasn't saying who was currently on the team, just that the Hawks weren't exactly a freight train of a team when they joined the NFC west. I mean I think prior to Make a Wish perennial all star Matt Hasselbeck joining the team David Kreig held most of their passing records.

js34603: As pointed out above no one had the Ravens or Niners going all the way last year. The number of teams who can go on a run and win it all is a lot bigger than you think. Hell I can think of at least two more teams I didn't list that could make a run.

Why do people keep saying this?  Sure, no one saw Kaepernick coming, but the Niners were a football to the knee from the Superb Owl the year before.

This is true. from 1995 - 2001 (the years immediately preceding the move to the NFC, Seattle was 55-57 with 6 of the 7 seasons endeing somewhere between 7-9 and 9-7 and one playoff appearance (a 20-17 loss to Miami). Nearly the definition of mediocre.

Well, when Butler blew his ACL in practice, he jogged off on his own power and Payton originally said "he just banged knees with Ingram, he's gonna be fine."  I don't believe it until Florio posts it on PFT, lol.

Shame Us: Record since Seahawks joined NFC West:

SF - 80-95-1 - 3 playoff appearances, 4-3 playoff record, 1 SB
SEA - 92-84 - 7 playoff appearances, 6-7 playoff record, 1 SB

Who's the little brother?

That's cute, SEA fans are trying to take credit for the 49ers spending 15 years rebuilding rather than all of the other obvious REAL factors that caused it.  If we're going to cherry pick statistics, let's just look at the last 2 years why don't we.

Not outside of the Northwest, no. I still don't know WTF all that means. Seems like the natural cutoff to start counting from the season both teams were in the same division for a number of reasons.

So, you are saying that when the two teams joined the same division is not a good point to start a comparison?  You know, when they play each other two times a year.

We could extend back to when competent ownership purchased the Seahawks.

trollolololollololol

An 11-year, 176-game sample size is hardly cherry-picking, little man. It doesn't make any sense at all to start from the season when they began to play at least 12 games a season against the same opponents (4 against the Rams/Cards, 4 vs. same NFC Division, 4 vs same AFC Division). No, that would be dumb.

The inferiority complex that Seahawks fans have towards the Niners rivals the one the RedSox had of the Yankees from 1918-2004. It's completely understandable of course, given that the Seahawks franchise has never been worth a single god damn thing, ever, and the Niners are on any short list for the pre-eminent franchise in the history of the NFL. But it's still annoying.

Niner fans seem to have a totally undeserved sense that their team, which has no title in nearly 20 years and has been outclassed by the Seahawks since they joined the division 11 seasons ago, is superior to the rest of the NFL.
