Twelve year old girl, that amoeba was starving anyways.

/ have a real smart 12 yr old niece
// she's only missing the part of her brain that governs musical taste
/// still took her to Bieber last Wednesday

Doctors at Arkansas Children's Hospital tried the standard approach - a cocktail of four antibiotics - but also used an experimental antifungal drug and an unusual approach that involved lowering her body temperature.

Sounds similar to the "Milwaukee protocol" for treating rabies.

Poor little bugger starved to death.

Swimming In NYC beach waters before sewage plants were invented has made me invincible.

As a frequenter of Arkansas swimmin' holes...I am a bit scared now. Hell, I always figured as long as I avoided the water moccasins, I'd be fine.

More proof why clowns are evil. As for the article, on one side of the country, this girl is doing better while that poor little boy in FL is merely "the same." That poor boy's family. :(

LOL.

The beauty of it is, the joke would still work with any other state. But is obviously particularly relevant to Arkansas, and, well, most of the South.

Read the headline and immediately thought:

 The Amoeba?!?

This amoeba hits a few kids every year in Florida.  And, just about all of them die from it

Never swim in natural freshwater lakes and rivers in the summertime, especially in the South...especially in Florida.  Swim only in chlorinated pools or salt water.
