It is targeting people who have enough time to play D&D. If you don't have anything else going on in life answering 129 questions might be fun.

Had a friend who was an outstanding DM, he hated the "true neutral" alignment for reasons that I came to understand over time.  He was totally down with you rolling a TN character but would expect you to play to that alignment.

It's easier to play and maintain a Chaotic Evil char than to roll and get anything done with a TN imo.

But that can depend on how you view True Neutral. True Neutral can be either "Balance ALL THE THINGS!", or it could honestly just be *apathy*. You care about your friends, but little beyond that immediate caring. You neither consider law to be paramount, but nor do you consider it unjust by its very existence, stiffling.

I always tended to view alignments as kind of.. squiffy. As Digger put it in.. well, Digger: "Good and evil is... kinda squishy at the edges."

/Then again, I also loved Ed's argument for what evil was in that comic.
//Ed: Evil is having reason, always, many and many. If hunter beats mate, has reason, always. Mate is lazy, burning food, is stupid, is speaking on and on. Is always being a reason.
Digger: But Ed, those aren't good reasons!
Ed: No, but evil is still being - is having reason - being reasonable! Mousie understands? Is always being reason. Is punishing world for not being...like in head. Is always reason. World should be different, is reason. Is only good is not having reason. Little one hugs, not reason. Digger-mousie is giving name to nameless, say 'Ed', no reason. Skin-painter paints skin of child, no reason. Just is.

You haven't spent much time on the geek tab I take it. Everyone tends to come in and rave about it whenever there is the opportunity. We started almost a year ago, I was DMing, but my work schedule and some life stuff made it so I had to step aside. Might get back into the swing of things soon, but two other members take turns DMing their own campaigns.
