It's the trainwreck analogy - only he provides a new one regularly. He's the Old Faithful of trainwrecks you can't look away from.

Remember when the Republicans used to demand that we respect the office of the president even if we didn't like the guy who was in that office at the time?  I guess not so much anymore.

Watch the complete uproarious segment, below:

Somehow, I doubt it is as "uproarious" as The Blaze claims, though I'm not going to click to find out.

I'd like to think that Obama flew Bo to the Missouri State Fair in an OV-22 Osprey just to deliver the news personally that the rodeo clown was banned for life.

2013-08-14 08:04:20 AM
The performance involved a man dressed in an Obama mask and cowboy hat, with with an upside down broom attached to the seat of his pants to lend him the appearance of a dummy, propped up in the dirt, along with an announcer, who reportedly asked audience members if they would like to see Obama run down by a bull.

This is what Beck is defending.

I have a friend who is an assistant principal at an elementary school.  He'll be sitting at work when all of a sudden he'll get 5 calls from irate parents making absurd accusations.Last time they were complaining that the school was locating the flags in the classroom so the students face Mecca to say the pledge.Anyway invariably, he checks Beck's website and he sees the thing the parents are complaining about is something Beck covered on his radio show.

People have to deal with Beck's idiocy regardless of whether they listen to his show or not.

Well, to be fair, that was before the GOP and conservatives everywhere realized they actually sympathize with the terrorists, what with their both sharing a fundamentalist interpretation of their respective faiths and a hatred for the American government.

2013-08-14 08:25:27 AM
The teleprompter thing is quite entertaining. Think about it: conservatives have decided that it is WORTH appearing like a complete imbecile in exchange for annoying liberals. They are willing to be murderers of their own posterity to gain just a little irritation.

I wanted to tear my teeth out; I didn't know what I wanted to do! And I want to remember it. I never want to forget it... I never want to forget. And then I realized... like I was shot... like I was shot with a diamond... a diamond bullet right through my forehead. And I thought, my God... the genius of that! The genius! The will to do that! Perfect, genuine, complete, crystalline, pure.

This is why guns must be included with every radio, including car radios because crazy is as crazy does.

See, there's the rub.  According to the article, that's not what Beck was defending.  Beck was defending mocking the president, because that's all that happened.  A clown wearing a mask is exactly the same as a teleprompter joke.  Obama just has such thin skin that he personally called the county fair commission and made them fire the guy.

It's really quite a nice strawman.  Ignore the murderous/manslaughterous (is that a word?) connotation of goring the president and say it was just about a mask, then mock Obama all day, feed the base, and turn this into a pretty nice piece of publicity through your entire news system.

For a good time, check into a breaking political news thread before Limbaugh goes on the air and then watch once he comes on. It's not called an echo-chamber for nothing.

There should be a new reality show where Obama takes people like Glenn Beck, Sarah Palin, Rush Limbaugh out to lunch. There will be a hidden camera catching each one of them telling Obama they really don't mean what they say and then falling all over themselves telling him how great he is. Maybe a Candid Camera angle would work too.

I never would have expected such behavior from a follower of a church founded by a known con man.

Beck continued to repeat the statement, even reading it backwards as the prompter reversed direction, explaining softly: "That's all that's in there, I don't know what else...I'm waiting for my speech - staff!  Where's my speech because I don't have my prepared remarks here..."

Yeah, ever since Obama debuted the TelePrompTer for the entire planet in 2008, things have never been the same. I know, the thing is taking off slowly, so far, he's the only person on the PLANET who uses one. Hell, I can't even figure out where Brother Beck would have gotten the ones HE used. As far as I knew, they were exclusive to Obama.

Don't worry Glenn, I'm sure he'll sell one to you as soon as he's done "turning us all into Socialists".

It makes sense because Beck is a pants-shiatting inbred white-supremacist coward who makes money by convincing other pants-shiatting inbred white-supremacist cowards (e.g. All Republicans) to be afraid of non-caucasians and to buy gold. If Beck (or any other mainstream Republican - especially the gun nuts) ever became involved in a genuine face-to-face conflict, he would crawl up his own ass so fast he would disappear like a popped soap bubble.

Glenn Beck is as useless as a broken dildo.  I'm surprised he hasn't pulled a Budd Dwyer and removed himself from the gene pool live on the air.

I was dismayed when I was channel surfing one day and found that Glenn Beck's channel was included in cable package.

It makes me feel dirty that some of my cable bill is going each month to subsidize this waste of carbon.  I wonder if there's a way I can specifically un-request it from the cable company.

This should serve to prove - beyond the shadow of a doubt - that Beck and his ilk don't give a flying shiat about the country. Wasting valuable facetime mocking the president does absolutely no good for anyone and it's not useful content. If he, Limbaugh, O'Reilly and the others were 1/10th as patriotic as they claim to be, they'd use their platforms to promote content the people could actually use.

I know, I know. They're in it for the salary. Fine. They just need to stop calling themselves patriots or 'good Americans'.

Don't, Glenn! You'll end up dead or in jail like Ted Nugent!

Wow. I like how this is an issue now, and not at any other time in the past when we made fun of presidents. I mean, it's not like they just decided to start wearing a mask and making fun of a major political leader once Obama got in office.

Where wolf: ignore the murderous/manslaughterous (is that a word?) connotation of goring the president and say it was just about a mask,

Oh come on! Murderous connotations? It was a joke at a rodeo. No one serious thought (a): that was Barack Obama and (2) that anyone was going to be murderized/manslaughterized. It was a joke. Just like it was when the same thing was done for previous presidents. They weren't fomenting rage or hatred or anything, it was just a bit of comedy. If lame comedy, but whatever.

Not terribly serious, no.  However, there is a difference between the announcer saying "who's that over there" and starting some keystone cops routine in an Obama mask and the same announcer just asking "who wants to see Obama run down by a bull."  One is funny (maybe) while the other shows an intent to do harm to another human.

Sort of like how I don't have problems with the various "NoBama" stickers, but I might take offense to someone hanging an empty chair by a noose and stabbing it with a bayonet.
