Li said that she bought the phone last September and had dropped it on one occasion, leaving the phone with a small crack on its upper right corner

Why do I keep clicking Daily Fail links? She's looking for a new phone.. Nothing to see here.

Calling bullshiat. I took my sisters iPhone apart last week and there is nothing there that can explode. Battery is lower, mic and speakers are at the bottom.

/sis was pretty pissed that I didn't put it back together.

The battery has a lot of energy stored inside - do you really think it can't explode?

Wait, are you telling me--with a straight face--that I can use my small handheld computer with all the apps and games could be manipulated in some way to make phone calls, TOO?

Possible? Yes. Probable? No.

Good thing she didn't have one of these:

...if that went off, she could have scratched her brain.. or ended up in goat vomit.

Saying that an exploding battery is improbable is a world of difference from saying that there's nothing inside an iPhone that can explode.

Sorry your honor, let me rephrase: "there is nothing in that area of the phone that can explode".

So they've gone from making fraudulent products to filing fraudulent claims against the legit manufacturers.

Clever move, China... Clever move...

A story from from Thailand? Pfft.  That's not any more believable than Chinese.

Can't trust those Asianses.  Let me know when it explodes in the fat, sweaty hands of a middle-aged white male.

It costs between £529 and £699 in the UK and $199 and $399 in the US, depending on the amount of memory, has a larger screen and is lighter and slimmer than previous models.

What? Either that is comparing the UK price unsubsidised and the US price along with a monthly contract or Apple can fark itself with a rusty pipe. It's bad enough that they charge 79p for the same song that costs 99 cents in the US on itunes and that every console and game publisher on the planet likes to rape Britain on prices (though admittedly not the unlubricated rape that Australians get on game prices)

I'm sorry but that's not what a battery failure looks like. A moron can tell that the phone was dropped.

Eat a dick China.

It's the first thing you said. They're comparing apples and oranges (haha!) as far as the prices go. No rusty pipe needed. Which is good, because I hear they also cost more where you live.

Last month it was claimedthat anair stewardess was killed by an electric shock when she answered a call on her iPhone 5 while it was recharging.

Um... Couple o' things:

1) The iPhone takes 5 measly volts and 1 amp to charge. Even if a defective knockoff charger were used that supplied a potentially lethal amount of power to the phone, it would fry the phone, so it would be unable to receive a call for you to pick up, and...

2) iPhones are plastic, which would normally insulate you from a shock.

Unless she was in the tub with her iPhone and dropped the charging phone in the tub while she was talking on it, I'm gonna call bullshiat on this one.

Good thing it wasn't an ACTUAL iPhone 5
