Does the rest of the country hate Melo or is that just localized to Denver?  Cause I hate that lazy ball hoggin no-defense playing son of a whore.

Has a massive Clenis® which Kevin Garnett says tastes like Cherios.

10. Ray Allen - I'm a Celtic fan.  I honestly don't think I've disliked him since I watched the Friars beat his Huskies on Senior Night my freshman year.  (Almost passed out from screaming so much that game.  It was frickin' awesome.)
9. Andrew Bynum - He's just a joke at this point.
8. Chris Bosh - Meh.  Can teams be jealous that he's on Miami? Sure.  But the photobomb tells me that he's not all bad.
7. Joakim Noah - Major league douchebag.  He just is.
6. Kevin Garnett - Again, like Ray, I don't blame him for leaving, I blame Danny Ainge on being retardedly overrated as a GM.
5. Kobe Bryant - Okay, I'll give you that one too.  Mostly because he's a smarmy douchenugget.
4. Dwyane Wade - The only thing I hate about Wade is having to spell his name wrong.
3. Kris Humphries - He deserves to be mocked for being involved with a Kardashian, as does every man.  (Especially Lamar.)
2. Lebron James - I'm slowly backing off the hate on him, mostly because he's come out of the shadow of being a Cant-Win-the-Big-One player
1. Dwight Howard - I'm trying to think of players who teams and their fans will actually hate having on their team other than him.  Maybe Bynum?

Either way, I think this list comes off more as a "players I'm jealous aren't on my team" list more than anything else.  Especially when you consider this list has no dookies (seriously, how can you leave off Battier?) and left off Ron Artest.

Well I hate him, but more because he was part of the team that got Boeheim a ring that he doesn't deserve.  (Farking Coach K wannabe ref-fluffer.)

Stupid. I don't think anyone outside Boston hates Ray Allen ... and nobody gives a damn about Kris Humphries, I am a Rockets fan and I do dislike Dwight Howard.

Personally I hate Glen Davis for no reason whatsoever. Maybe because he has the worst nickname ever.

I also hate Lamar Odom and Chris Paul for no reason. And Carmelo.

Meh.  It's thug ball.

2013-08-12 09:00:14 PM
Nobody actually cares about Dwight Howard.

Unless Howard's played for your team or plays for your team now, your opinion of him is whatever.  You might dislike him a little.  But you don't really care.

I hate this list.

HOW CAN DWYANE WADE NOT BE NUMBER ONE........ Oh. Right. Him. OK that makes sense.

Oh look someone who doesn't know anything about the NBA made a list. No one with an IQ above room temperature hates Ray Allen.

"Stupid. I don't think anyone outside Boston hates Ray Allen..."

I'm a Celtics fan but I can't hate on Ray Allen. After no championship for over two decades, he finally helped the Celtics win it all in 2008. Ray was having problems in Boston, so he went and got a better job. Who wouldn't?

What's really starting to irritate me is how a lot of ex-Boston players from any of the sports teams seem to be continuously trashed when they leave town. I can't figure out if it's the fans or the Boston writers doing this, or both. I have nothing against Wes Welker leaving and I'll be disappointed if he's booed whenever he comes back to Foxboro.

And that's a sane way of viewing it. FFS Allen was gifted to Boston as part of OKC's "tank and get several years of top picks while setting it up so we can cry about how Seattle won't support us" bullsh*t plan anyway. And it's not like even Seattle was his first stop. Just because a dude spends some time in Boston doesn't mean he'll stay there forever.

Hell, it doesn't even say anything negative about Boston to have them leave. So why be so mad?

There's a bunch of ring machines on that list. Some of you have said it's just jealousy.

But notice there's not a single Spur on that list.

So many worse than some of these. Kendrick Perkins and westbrook for doucheyness? Mwp obviously number one? Maybe even Monta Ellis for being an inefficient chucker. Rondo for sure? Kevin love for being a whiny, off injured punk. Kmart and Ginobili for being epic floppers.

JR Smith. That suburban thug wannabe.

Because all the assholes don't play on the team any more. Who was that one really big asshole? Bowen?

"As we look back on his career, Kobe's hate will be viewed as similar to Jordan as it will be credited to his competitive nature, not him being a diva."

Or rape.

I thought Dime Magazine was a legitimate basketball source, but it appears to be written by Bleacher Report rejects (and I didn't know such a thing exists).

Pretty much. People hate KG because of his fake ass tough guy act; this guy is known for bullying small players but will put his tails between his legs whenever he runs into a real tough guy. I dont think anyone has ever looked at KG and go "Look at him! He is too intense! I think I will hate this player".

I hate the Celtics with a passion and I didn't even hate Ray when he was there.

How is Carmelo not on this list? People forget his sucker punch bullshiat?

Yeah, as for his earlier stop most Milwaukeeans just wish the Bucks would have never gotten rid of him. Or picked up Anthony Mason.  Or, well, wish that the last 10 years of Bucks basketball had ever even happened at all.  Admittedly, he would have left anyway, but having something more than the one division championship to his legacy would be nice.

The dirty players (Bowen, Cheap Shot Rob) got out before anybody could return the favor to their old bodies, and it's hard to give up two slots in that top 10, since it's impossible for me to determine if Parker flops more than Ginobili or vice versa.

Kobe is still hated but as one of the NBA's most driven players, the respect for his approach and work ethic is starting to outgrow his overall hate as his championship window closes. Once upon a time, Kobe was hated for being a champion because people love to hate a winner. Kobe also is still one of the best trash-talkers in the NBA. With him recently crushing his Achilles rehab, you have to respect the guy.

He still carries a high level of hate around with him but it's not the type that you pass up buying his sneakers for. As we look back on his career, Kobe's hate will be viewed as similar to Jordan as it will be credited to his competitive nature, not him being a diva.

Maybe I'm weird but when someone comes out and admits to raping someone ("I now understand how she feels that she did not consent to this encounter."), I'm going to continue to pass up buying his sneakers.

Oh wow, now they're ripping off the "10 Most Hated" list from Pro Wrestling Illustrated from back in the day.  Scraping the bowl for wrestling storylines to rip off, boys?

OK, I'll admit I do not follow basketball any further than skimming the headlines here on Fark, but how on earth is this douche A) not on the list, or B) not mentioned in this thread?  I seriously want to punch this guy in his throat tattoo.  Does he have some kind of sparkling personality that everyone loves or something?  Somebody please explain.

Because most people don't get upset by people having tattoos? Especially not basketball fans, who would then probably have no one to root for?

It's not the tattoos - it's the whole douchey package.  If you look at that picture and you don't think, "Oh, what a douche" - then you're probably a giant douche yourself.  Plus didn't he recently have some blatant foul that pissed off a lot of people?  That's how I heard of him in the first place.

I actually watch him play and without him, the Heat don't win the championship. He's a great teammate (unlike most of the Heat players, who won't retaliate for a teammate that takes a cheap shot, partially because the team would really struggle without the few guys that play, he's not afraid to step in) and a solid player who hustles all the time and does a pretty good job of helping out around the rim.

As for the blatant foul - it was a foul on Tyler Hansbrough. Now THERE's a guy you see the face of and he just looks like he deserves a good punch. He didn't even have to get the tattoos to get that way.

Everyone who's ever watched Tyler Hansbrough play a game has wanted to elbow him in the face, not to mention people who have played against him.

/speaking of people that belong on the list...

I suppose in fairness to Hansbrough, he's basically everything I described about Andersen. He just does everything like a spaz, too, though. At least Andersen realizes he's limited offensively and doesn't pretend he's a star down there.

Ray Allen?  The guy in all the child diabetes commercials?  If anything he should be most loved for beating Reggie Miller's 3 pt record.  Reggie getting super butthurt about Ray's shooting prowess is the best thing about him being a commentator.
