The Dog Ate My Homework: I don't know why more people don't get excited by the idea of sitting in a field on a hot, muggy night, surrounded by insects and people who won't shut up, watching a movie being projected onto a giant weathered wall, while listening to audio from a Sonic Drive-In speaker. Why are youngsters these days so darned particular about things like this?farking in the back seat

1. Getting busy in the back seat
2. Getting busy in the front seat
3. Great prices: In Atl, 7 dollars for a first run evening double feature, 1 buck for kids 9 and under. Try and beat that
4. Cheaper concession stand
5. Can bring your own food
6. Grilling out smells awesome
7. Smoke whatever you want whenever you want
8. Drink whatever you want whenever you want
9. Evening breeze
10. No LIEMAX ripoff prices
11. No 3D
12. Can control your own sound level
13. Sound comes from your own speakers now via radio
14. Rarely (if ever) sold out

...and I've probably forgotten a few.

The only negatives for me is the relative distance and the fact that I have to wait until sundown for the show to start. Otherwise, the drive in is the best way to go to the movies, hands down. Stop at the supermarket, pick up a sackful of snacks, some beer and a sandwich, and I'm set.

I doubt there's a single indoor theater that will let you see two first run movies for seven dollars apiece. And if you've got kids that like to go to movies and you're on a budget, I think you'd be nuts not to take them to the drive in.

Drive in movies rock. Good on this company for including it in an advertising campaign. As someone pointed out above, American car companies should have been promoting drive in movies long ago.

I'd love to own a drive in someday. I'd be a great manager for a drive in movie theater.
