#1 average home price nowadays is about half a million bucks.  Yeah, they can probably afford good services.

From #4, Chanhassen, MN:  Jobs have remained strong, and nearby Minneapolis offers big-name employers like Target and the Mayo Clinic.

Distance from Chanhassen to Rochester, MN: 97 miles, 1 hour, 34 minutes.

That's one hell of a commute.

I wonder how many of these are close to a major metro and reap the benefits of being near such while not having to deal with the problems of big city life.

I answered my own question, and the answer is "All of them".

My home town is #1! Taxes unbelievably high, so Norton is home now.

I took a shiat this morning that was bigger than half of those towns.  Small towns are ok if you like NOTHING TO DO except drink and have bad sex.

sure
close
but that is always the problem
having to travel

but then again, I live in the downtown of a major city
I can hit every major place with a 2 mile walk, rather than 30-60 mins + parking ...

And all of them lack proximity to the ocean (or even the Great Lakes).  Even the places in Utah are at least 30 minutes from the Great Salt Lake.

An algorithm to figure out the best places to live. How delightfully business-like, and how totally out of touch! Shrewsbury is pretty miserable, but I suppose it looks good on paper.
