The Tom & Jerry episodes that feature Spike and his son offer pleasant images of father-son nurture and bonding. So there's that.

CujoQuarrel: Curious

Does anyone actually READ the Huffington Post? Whenever I follow a link there, like from FARK, it's total utter crap.

Fixed for accuracy.

give me doughnuts: 100 Watt Walrus: Ambivalence: I am surprised GI Joe wasn't on that list. Glamorizing war where enemy pilots always "eject" before their planes exploded and no one actually dies. Plus there was always some namby pamby "knowing is half the battle" morality play at the end.

This. And the stories and voice performances were just awful. (The namby-pamby was slapped on so the show could be claimed to have educational content, back when the FAA had rules with some teeth.)

The what?

It was a long time ago, about the same time the Germans bombed Pearl harbor.

"9 Incredibly Reckless Classic Cartoons We'd Never Let Our Kids Watch Now"

If by "we" they mean your average HuffPo contributor, then this likely isn't satire.

Bahhhh ha ha! That's what I get for middle-of-the-night Farking. FCC. That was FCC.

Heron: What weirded me out most about GI Joe was how, in the post-ep message segment, the Joe's would always show up in the creepiest way possible. Kid doing something dangerous in the bathroom? Joe comes out of their shower. Something dangerous in the kitchen? There's a Joe already in his house. Comes across a downed power-line? Here's some Joes in a friggin black, window-tinted van to give them some advice. And why were they spying on these kids in the first place? The Joes have some serious explaining to do.

I'd guess that was entirely on purpose. The producers were being pretty much forced to include that stuff so they could pretend their garbage had some value for children. They did whatever they could get away with while rolling their eyes.

Didn't click the link.

Ya know what?  I'm just not going to give HufPo any more page hits for their unbelievably stupid, trolling articles anymore - fark themand their page-hit mentality.

FTFA: Popeye the Sailor

Even as a kid, I knew there was something wrong with:

1. Some Bluto guy trying to rape Olive Oil.
2. Popeye solving all of his problems by beating the shiat out of Bluto.
3. Olive Oil adhering to the imaginary standards of rail-thin women.

Not to mention the episode or two where they basically promote that women are shiatty drivers. But all of that is okay because "Eat your spinach!"

Gosling: The Gary Coleman Show, anyone? Where Gary is dead and now he's an angel in heaven?

Well, now he is.

Added that for ya. I mean, I know Popeye's so fugly he's lucky Olive's interested in him at all, but have some dignity, man.

You can't come to my house. The building itself wouldn't let you in.
