Why would they have an event with only one country participating?

Better install a Horizontal Bar then - My mom's always on her back these days -
being deceased does that

Actually, I saw a guy the other day with moobs bigger than that.

On topic, a friend is an aerials instructor. They can so some pretty amazing shiat that puts doughy strippers to shame (and much more impressive than golf or table tennis).

I'd buy the Olympics Triplecast for that

The Olympics are super boring anyway. Why someone throwing a disc far is an event worth watching or even performing for that matter is beyond me

YES! I pole dance, but I am not a stripper at all. I do it for fun (Because it is dancing and it's fun to tell your friends "... Oh! And I pole dance in my spare time." The reaction is win every time.)

Now I wanna hear a stripper Cinderella story.

Headline: "Pole dancing COULD APPLY...."  OP: "Pole dancing MAY BECOME.....".

EXTREMELY different things.

Yeah, shiat like fishing, NASCAR, marble shooting, etc... COULD ALSO APPLY.

I went to a pole dancing event (I don't know what you call it.  "Show" sounds weird for some reason, but nobody was competing) a few weeks ago.  That shiat takes some serious fitness.

2013-08-11 04:21:16 PM
A pole-dancing exhibition

2013-08-11 04:21:44 PM
Why it would suck can be summed up in "...and now we are going to check up on how the men are doing"

2013-08-11 04:35:18 PM
Then is tipping the poledancers dollars going to be classified as a sport as well?

No kidding.  My wife and a friend went to a pole dancing class and the first thing she said when she got back was, "The instructor said if I want to keep practicing I'll have to start providing my own bandages."

Apparently the deluxe poles are on ball bearings and the pole spins with you.  The other kind requires you to spin around them, and you use friction for speed control.

After my first class I was literally black and blue. I also know people who have bled on the poles.

Yeah, I was gonna say something along the lines of "if that does pass, I wonder what the next 'sport' to be included will be"
Though you seem to have gotten the point across in...uhm...utilizing other words.

If they will take out Dressage, then by all means.

That is NOT a sport.

You have to be there. I was lucky enough to go twice to London 2012 (Olympics and paralympics) and it's not just watching the sport, it's being part of the event

I never quite understood how riding a horse is a sport. It's like driving a car, which isn't a sport either.

When I first heard the word "paralympics" I thought it was all aerial events. Huh.

I had that same feeling when I learned a "paralegal" isn't a lawyer for someone who defends clients on an airplane.

It's a display of perfect partnership between horse and rider. the art is to get the horse to perform rather complex maneuvres with the tiniest of gestures from the rider. In fact, i'm pretty sure you lose points if your commands can be seen. Dressage as a solo event is one thing, but i'm always more impressed by the Three-Day event, where the horses have to master three separate disciplines. To have the power and skill to perform showjumping and cross-country,but also to have the grace and poise of a ballerina during the dressage is astounding.

This is laughable. The Olympics have been struggling for relevancy, the last few years, and then they do this. They remove baseball because they say it's not a an international game (even though they have pro leagues in like 35 countries), try to removing wrestling, and add pole dancing? Go f*ck yourself, IOC. You're officially become the joke all the haters always said you were.

The war between the sexes is over. We won the second women started doing pole dancing for exercise.
