I cannot.  But haven't I cheated on my wife or had hundreds of thousands of dollars in gambling losses either.

The last time I could dunk a basketball was sophomore year of high school. I was a scrawny, hoppy kid for a while but it didn't last long at all.

Michael Jordan is a very tall man. I am not. I couldn't dunk a basket ball with an Olympian's vertical leap. He doesn't have to go as high as I would. So we can't compare my basketball dunks to his at any age fairly.

A very tall athlete who is considered the greatest basketball player of all time can still dunk at 50? What a shocker!

FTFA: But even with another high-flying act from the man who won six NBA titles and six Finals MVPs with the Chicago Bulls, don't think Jordan will quit his day job. He currently owns the Charlotte Bobcats.

Has the author seen the Bobcats play? Because I'm pretty sure Jordan gave up on his day job three years ago.

He can dunk a basketball. But, $10 says he'd rather have my golf game.

Have you punched any of your coworkers? Surely you can do that as well as him.

$10? Let's make it interesting. $50K.

Oh, you don't have $50K in your wallet? MJ does.

Now go make that putt.

I would not put it past him to go back to the NBA, play one exhibition game and still go for 35 points and 10 assists.

No dunking here either.  Wish I had the thousand of dollars to gamble away.

Have been cheated on, however (grabs sledgehammer)

Pfft.. I just broke my 15th Nerf Hoop basketball rim on a tomahawk dunk the other day. And I'm only 5'7

Actually it was my buddy's kid's Nerf hoop.

/heads to Toys R Us to replace it...

At my advanced age of 53, this is about my limit in the dunking category:

Unless he's playing against the Bobcats or the Washington Generals, I sure would.

Brother is 50 now.  NBA is chock-full of athletes in their prime - mid to late 20's.  I mean, yeah, MJ was great, and it's cool he can still dunk, but your fandom is taking you to Stupidville.

He could school me I'm sure, but Lebron, Kyrie, Kobe, or Durant?   He ain't Uncle Drew.  Besides, he's MJ.  He's so damned competitive that if he COULD do that, he probably would just to to wag his tongue at those young uns.

As long as David Stern was writing the script, he sure could.

I do a better job running the Bobcats than he does though. And I don't even know who they have on their team at this point.

2013-08-11 04:33:06 PM
since the evidence of this feat is a photo, I assume MJ is reduced to WNBA grade "dunks", where the ball is technically released at rim level, bounces around awhile, then falls in.

Wrong skin colour.

I did.  I dunked on my 50th birthday.  I had my son there to verify it.

Not much of a dunk compared to when I won a YMCA dunk contest in 1982, more like a WNBA dunk, but a dunk nonetheless.

Gordie Howe played 80 games in the NHL at age 51 and scored 41 points.  Let us know when he dunks over Durant in an actual NBA game.

This. Basketball players rival Soccer players for their level of pussiness.

MJ is 6 feet 6 inches tall, and has long arms.  He probably only needs to elevate 12-18 inches to dunk a basketball.  I am not impressed.

That just shows you that hockey is easier to play than basketball.
