Turtle Princess' library and not Twilight Sparkle's?

Dr Who's bookshelf and not The Library from Unseen University?

This list sucks.

This ^25.

This is not a list of libraries in fiction, this is a list of in TV and movies. The fact the author can't tell the difference really really worries me in its implications for culture and what remains of our civilization.

Obviously list fails without Unseen University's (incredibly dangerous) library, but how on earth do you put together a list of great fictional libraries and not include Borges' Library of Babel?

/Sandman's library above is also a pretty good call.

Clue terrible? That author needs to be beaten with Hayden Christensen's performance in the Star Wars prequels.

And it doesn't even have TWILIGHT SPARKLE'S HOUSE!

This little tree's going down in history for a generation as the quintessential library, and they can't even manage to put it on what's obviously an animation/sci fi geek's list?

7. The library from Clue
Miss Scarlett in the library with the candlestick! Okay, maybe not, but the library is where many of the shenanigans in Clue went down. The 1985 film was based on the classic murder-mystery board game and had several different endings, each of which revealed a different character as the killer. It was terrible, but it couldn't snuff out our love for the original game.

wait, what?

What a fraction of a library that contains every book anyone wants looks like. And quite a few nobody wants.

Good, it has Doctor Who as number one...as it should.  It's really hard to beat a library that is an entire planet.

I see Borges is covered.
Read it now if you have not for it is truly THE fictional library.

Name of the Rose is the other obvious omission, but the thing that confuses me is the Jedi library. Now, I have seen all 3 of the Star Wars films and I don't recall a library at all.

angrymacface: Clue terrible? That author needs to be beaten with Hayden Christensen's performance in the Star Wars prequels.

There's a prevailing opinion that since Clue wasn't an instant hit when it came out it means it sucked and 'writers' tend to pretend they've seen it to sound hip. Invariably they bash it, proving they don't know squat about anything.

If you read Eco's The Name of the Rose with Borges under your belt, you will probably appreciate it all the more.
