Because no one over the age of 18 would use acetone for illicit purposes?

nekom: Because no one over the age of 18 would use acetone for illicit purposes?

It's not about your age, it's about using your ID to track the purchases. That way you can't go all over town buying a couple of bottles here and there to get what you need (if you are in fact using it to make meth). Same thing they do for pseudoephedrine.

Meth heads.

I hope someone invents some kind of super-crack that can be made with common ingredients like sugar, flour, gasoline, and bleach.

Then maybe I'll be able to buy real Sudafed again without being treated like a sex offender.

People who don't want their name to trigger a police investigation once the hardware store registers the purchase with the police, as they are required to do.

Show, or allow them to take record of?  Slight difference, I imagine its leaning into the 'take record of'.

We're talking about doing this for the 0.2% of people who use Meth. For crying out loud, just legalize marijuana already and let them do that instead. We'll still have a few Meth users, but there's so few already that any less and they'll be hardly any whatsoever.

But no, some backwards religious ninnies need to dictate how other people live so we have to keep the horrid war on drugs going...

Anyone else think this is grade A male bovine manure?

What's going to happen if some rotten-toothed cooker finds a way to make meth from hot dogs?  Will we have to show ID to buy weinies?  Will you no longer be allowed to buy 30 packs for the company lake trip?

Instead of making people with allergies or paint on their nails feel like petty scum, try doing some real policing and hunt down the dipshiats making the damn poison.

Have these draconian/asinine measures even led to a single meth lab being found and shut down?  I'm not looking it up, because if it's not zero, it's too few to justify this crap.

Not trolling, just tired of being unable to get shiat that works for my allergies because some idiot found a way to fark it all up for all of us.

Makes SOME sense for pseudoephedrine, at least in that it's hampered domestic production, but acetone is a common industrial chemical available in bulk and used for thousands of legitimate purposes.  Where do you draw the line?  I'm sure water is probably involved in the meth making process as well, do we show ID for that too?

There's no such requirement. I buy it at Lowes every few months, they've never asked for ID.

Someone who only needs 1 oz and doesn't want to have to bother disposing of the other 4+ gallons?

The initials of Nail Polish Remover are the same as those of National Public Radio, a Commie Terrorist organization.  Coincidence?  I think not!

This isn't even a law.  CVS is just doing it out of some warped sense of making good headlines.  They are that lame.

An ID for nail polish remover? It's not like you're buying a gun ...oh wait, I wouldn't need an id for a gun.

I tried to find Nighttime Thera Flu the other day cause it's the only thing that works on cold/flu without making me all jittery. Went to 5 stores before I found out that it had been discontinued until they could reformulate it without whatever ingredient little Heisenbergs have been using to cook with. Probably won't work for me now.

/This is really why we can't have nice things.
