This is happening outside of my office. I would have aided in the rescue attempt, but it's Michelob.

It's a ten speed, a five speed times two. Besides there's no way we're wrecking this one. This is a BEER truck!

Looks like it happened right near the Bunker Hill Community College station on the Orange Line. I didn't think Michelob had enough alcohol in it to get you that drunk.

Stop trying to me watch videos, Internet! All I want is print and stills. If you want to include a video link, fine, but gimme something I can scan and move on.

/If I wanted to watch teevee news, I'd do on the farkin' television.

Not always.  I learned that sometimes those big "Bud/Coors/Michelob" trucks are carrying mostly swill but often times they have stashes of microbrew on them as well.  The distributor sells maybe 80% Bud products so they get a Bud truck but the smaller beers still have to get there somehow, so onto a Bud truck they go.

Yup.  Which is my station home.  The orange line was shut down for a while and is now simply experiencing (presumably heavy) delays.  Fun fun when it's raining.

I read the article to see what happened to the taxi.

Left disappointed (in the article and in myself).

first subby, there is no picture.

second, when you play the video to see the accident, it's not really "HOLY shiat".

really, nothing that dramatic about it, it's not like it's dangling or even leaning precariously, it's rested on the guardrail. they pull it from behind and all is well.

*sigh* it must be a simple life to be thrilled by the mundane

/kudos to the guardrail engineers though, well done sirs.

I'm surprised a trailer full of Michelob Ultra is heavy enough to offset the weight of the cab.

That crap is almost lighter than air.

Michelob.nothing of value.

I see no picture and even when I click the mobile link for video it won't play. That site fails.

Beer truck driver?

Was it John Candy from Masters of Menace?

Michelob Ultra is all bubbles. The trailer's probably heavier without the "beer".

I won't crash this, eh, it's a beer truck.

Not even close to terrifying. This happened just the other day in pretty much the same spot. Amazing that the driver lived.

My local tv station websites are getting awful about not having a text/photo version if they have a video.  They could at least publish the transcript to the segment.   On the other hand, why am I expecting them to have text versions at all?   It is a website for tv news station, so really all I should expect are links to segments from their tv broadcasts.  The local newspaper's website should be the place to go for text and photo, but they are nearly useless when it comes to breaking news.

The driver and passenger were "born in a shirt".

Had to fix that.  Budweiser doesn't allow competition beer on their trucks.  Microbrews have to catch a ride with the Coors truck.  The beer that appears not to be Bud on a Bud truck is Bud owned and watered down from the original recipe.  I do know about the funny little federal law restricting beer distribution to two or three trucking companies per state that cannot be owned by the brewers.  The trucks are decorated for advertising, but are owned and ran by a separate company.  Budweiser is known to monopolize one company in every state.  Here it's the Fabiano Brothers being Bud's personal mule.  All the other beers ride the Tom Ryan trucks.

/you should watch Beer Wars

Wow.  I did not know about this, but i sure am glad i decided to take Route 9 to 128 instead of taking the pike to the expressway.  I likely would still be on the road.

Perchance did the driver utter the words "Watch this?"

I didn't think of it till now, but none of the pics show the rear bumper.  I wonder how many guys were holding onto it back there.

The guy being pulled from this truck says, "Meh."

Not to defend Michelob, but around here those trucks are the distributors which happen to have a majority of Budweiser, Michelob, etc., but actually have some space on the truck for proper breweries.
