We've already been able to implant hand -made sculptures into genetically modified mice to grow human cell scaffolds.

But really, it's the 3D printer that's the miracle here. Uh huh.

And the process a) makes customizing and scaling (as the kids age) the hands very easy, and b) is so cheap that the creators are doing it for free.

But all you really have to do is change the ink to get the cyborg parts.

I was being facetious ... they're not printing with "Ink"

Right, I get that, but I kind of interpreted that as you thinking the only difference is the material used.  They actually have integrated a significant portion of the hearing-aid implant inside the ear, using the same 3D-printing process (different material, of course), which is fairly significant.

Who cares?! Why is that special?! 3-D printing is a pipe dream! It'll never ever ever ever really be used for anything of significance!!!!1!!eleventy!

/seriously, I wish the ant baits I bought worked as well as a 3-D printing thread
