Huh, I actually know someone who is on the show now.  Even that still won't make me actually watch it though.

I beg to differ.

My morning guy takes off one week every summer for the Big Brother premiere and spends all of his vacation time watching the streaming feeds online and the show at night.

So it has at least one, die hard, sad, vicariously-living fan.

Big brother, more like big bother.

The show is also similar to an AA Milne book... Because it too, contains a lot of pooh.

Seems ratings are up. Say racist crap, increase ratings: FTFA:

"Big Brother," now in its 15th season, is averaging 7.1 million viewers per episode this season, up 9 percent over last year, the Nielsen ratings company said.

You know how righties are always bragging about Fox News' ratings?

Public relations executive Joni Hudson-Reynolds, who writes a blog called ebonymompolitics, said young people watch the show and she believes CBS should be doing more to prevent the dissemination of offensive language.

Or, Ms. Hudson-Reynolds, parents should maybe tell their kids they can't watch this drek.

That's some mighty fine casting you did there, CBS. Trying to enjoy this season but it's just too difficult--especially since the two black houseguests are going to be evicted 5th and 6th and the racists look to be going far in the game.

Seriously, this.  I thought she was pretty funny early on and thought "Man, it'd take something blatantly racist for me to hate her."  Yeah, about that.

I want Spencer or Aaryn to win, just to see the hoops CBS will jump through in trying to prevent it from happening.

They should step it up and go "Racist to the Max"

Get Paula Deen, get the non-cursive reading witness from the Trayvon trial, get an old Japanese guy that hates all other Asians... see if the Bureau of Prisons will let Matthew Hale telecast from his ADX cell to be the host.

Help me out here, I only watch the show if I happen to be in the same room as my wife and kid when they watch it it, is this the chick who is also horrifying here family by banging the pizza boy?

and Julie Chen is married to Les Moonves?  THAT explains why she still has a job...makes sense now

How cute. You assume this is actually a game of challenge, with the outcome in doubt.

Seriously, this is CBS' worst nightmare. If they were truly serious, especially when the President's wife is the host, half of the cast should have received the boot, but that would destroy production and revenue. The more they try to get them to stop, the more they do. It's bringing in ratings, but at a cost.

Les Moonves is sleeping on the couch until September.

so do the people in the house know that they are basically publicaly ruining their reputations and its not being laughed off as harmless, or are they thinking this is "totes ok" because none of the backlash is filtering down to them?

YES, that'll be her. I think she's done a fine job of horrifying her family just by herself, banging pizza delivery guys on national tv was just the icing on that cake

I think it's this. A couple of them will likely be surprised to find themselves jobless once they are out of the game.

They don't know for sure but sometimes you can see them mentally running through the possibility of being portrayed negatively. Some are actually blaming the houseguests they're being hostile toward for making them look bad.

These people are insane. They're giving the cast of BB9 (which featured two guys who were thrown in prison for running drugs) a run for its money.

the_rev: I want Spencer or Aaryn to win, just to see the hoops CBS will jump through in trying to prevent it from happening.

If Amanda wins, they will be completely screwed, since there was something circulating that Amanda was predestined to win. Considering they hid her crap for a long time, and the fact that she said production told her things won't air, but now they are finally showing it, I hold out some hope that they are done with her.

2013-08-08 02:11:44 PM
I want to see the new show, Big Brother to the Stars.  It'll star David Duke, Jesse Jackson, Al Sharpton, Mel Gibson, Dog the Bounty Hunter, and Louis Farrakhan.  Pilot episode features all of them sitting in a circle singing Kumbya and We Shall Overcome..

//then it'll get a little weird.

2013-08-08 02:39:29 PM
Oh God, which one is this? The Aunt Jemima comment? Calling a black contestant "Shaniqua" when her name is actually Candice? Spencer's kiddie porn joke? Amanda commenting on the spray tans she had to get by saying "I look like a migrant worker. I look like a slave"?

(clicks)

Spencer. And some Amanda stuff I didn't list off.

Oh, by the way, live feed bonus from a little earlier today: Amanda and McCrae figured the live feeds were down, so they went into the photo booth and had sex for not the first time this season. Later on, the live feeds picked up Amanda telling Aaryn that the Diary Room reminded her that there are cameras in the photo booth and that they saw everything.

So Amanda and McCrae are now capable of forgetting that there are cameras in a photo booth.

To be fair, Howard's eviction was masterminded entirely by the Korean woman, and only because he's big physically and weak socially, traits which have a long history of getting contestants sent home early in Big Brother.

Candice's upcoming eviction, on the other hand...

A couple are cognizant of the fact that they may have some PR issues, Aaryn in particular... but they've blamed Candice for all of it by accusing her of playing the race card.

No. Really.

As far as CBS rigging... Julie Instagrammed a picture of the Reset Button last night, a device perceived by viewers as the 'Railroad The Game To The Whims Of Production' button. The response was wild applause. We are literally at the point where nobody gives a fark anymore if the show is rigged just so long as the rigging makes the bad people go away.

The HoH is allotted 45 minutes to write. I'm sure that doesn't seem like much time to some people, though to me it'd probably be plenty, but the real rule of putting up a blog post is that you only ought to post what you're confident in. If that means a shorter post, that means a shorter post. Even if she had to limit herself to two sentences or something similarly brief, that's still better than paragraph after paragraph of erection-pill e-mail mess.

Only two of them have even the slightest idea what in blazes they're doing, and those are Helen and Amanda. Everyone else in the house is basically in thrall to one or the other.

More racist remarks, more meltdowns, more DRAMA!  CBS loves the ratings that these indignities cause, and the revenue they generate is incredible.  CBS board of directors also love the fact that the public falls right into it like a bunch of lemmings.

metallion: More racist remarks, more meltdowns, more DRAMA!  CBS loves the ratings that these indignities cause, and the revenue they generate is incredible.  CBS board of directors also love the fact that the public falls right into it like a bunch of lemmings.

Given the visible reaction to Judd's eviction last night, this season has gotten completely away from CBS and they're about as helpless as the rest of us at this point. The ratings spiked a little bit when people figured Aaryn might be voted out and Julie would give her comeuppance, but then ratings tailed off again once it became clear that the comeuppance not only WASN'T happening but that the racists had completely taken over the house. CBS has tried to fix the situation, but things have gone in such a way as to completely torpedo every fix they've tried. Make America the MVP? America's target goes up on the block and one of the more popular houseguests gets put up instead. Encourage Amanda to confront Aaryn? Amanda turns out to be even worse. Instagram a picture of the reset button? The house immediately figures out that someone might be returning to the house later on and, according to the live feeds, enters into an immediate pact to run any returning houseguest right back out the door.

This is a nightmare season for CBS. Their casting director was bunglingly incompetent and this needs to be that person's last season with the show. This is the kind of situation that a show can only SURVIVE if it's Season 15. If this was Season 1, the show would either be shoved into a timeslot where it can go away quietly and not be renewed, or very publicly canceled with the game stopped midway.
