The Green Bay Packers (10.5%),

I swear I am not trolling (none of the NFC Central certainly should be higher then them):

Why? Why so high? Their defense is no better then last year, their OLine lost their best guy (and has been iffy at best over the last few years) and starting blind-side tackle and their WR is hurting like crazy. Nelson and Cobb could get better and be out their consistently, yet Nelson seems a tad injury prone. Also Finely is coming off an awful season of drops.

Things could go perfectly and all, no doubt. I just can;t see why out of the box this is a top 4 team.

Utterly ridiculous prediction. Completely preposterous. The 9ers thing? No that's probably right. I mean giving Philly that much of a chance.

Given all of that they still went 11-5 with a tough schedule last year. Maybe they're just believing the always optimistic macarthy?

So bulaga torn acl coach?

Yup, but that fourth rounder we picked up looks BETTER. He's a natural!

Jordy had a surgery and miss camp coach?

Yeah, but now his month long injury will be out of the way early this year.

Something the article didn't talk about was that in the 50,000 simulations, Vick turned the ball over 153,478 times, Bengals players were arrested 42, 523 times, Rex Ryan made an ass of himself 51,367 times, and whenever Tony Romo's name was printed out, the computer followed it with "lol".

Rogers has 1 playoff win since his Super Bowl win, against the Vikings without Ponder.  The year Green Bay won the SB, he had one of the top defenses in the NFL.  Since then, their defense has been pretty bad.  I don't see it happening.  Don't get me wrong, he's one of the best QB's in the history of the NFL, but it's going to take more than just him to win a Super Bowl.  He'll almost certainly make playoffs but the rest of the team needs to step up to win the Super Bowl and that's not likely.

49ers won't make it past the Seahawks this year. Had Seattle not blown their win in the playoffs to Atlanta, Seahawks, not the 9ers, make it to the superbowl. Also, Seattle would have beaten the Ravens, so Seahawks win the first superbowl in franchise history. that's how it happened in my reality.

That's a hilarious bit of revisionism (not that it's original).  Griffin wasn't responsible for letting the Seahawks' offense tear through the Redskins' defense from the second quarter onward.  Griffin wasn't responsible for Pierre Garcon letting Richard Sherman get into his head.

The 'top defense' was tops only in turnovers, the rest of the D performed basically like shiat.

its not terribly dissimilar to Brady in NE. As long as he's healthy and playing, that team is in the discussion for the playoffs. Period.

Plus, in case you didn't notice as of late, pretty much any team in the post season can run through and hoist the Lombardi. Once you're in the playoffs, its a whole new ball game.

Before the Packers won the Super Bowl, Aaron Rodgers had precisely 0 wins as a starter in the playoffs. Granted, he only played 1 game in the playoffs before they won the Super Bowl, but 1-2 after the Super Bowl is still better than 0-1 before the Super Bowl win. I'm thinking it's pretty much impossible to use previous playoff success an indicator of future playoff success for someone still at the early/middle stages of his career.

I believe the reason the Packers are so high is more of a function of parity in the NFL than it is of how good they are. BUT, I honestly don't see them doing all that well this year with their issues. I am a bit excited that they picked up two solid Running Backs in the draft though. Whether their Swiss Cheese O-line can actually block for them we will see, but at least they don't have RBs that are going to trip over the line of scrimmage this year. Hopefully a decent running game will allow the injury prone defense to rest and not twist ankles/knees as opposing ball carriers run all over them.

My pick for the Super Bowl is the Broncos over the 49ers (even before I saw this simulation).

I'd feel safe saying the Niners and Seadderall Seahawks are better teams than the Packers in the NFC. Any one of the three could be in the big one. But I also agree that the rash of injuries among an already pourous oline is going to be an issue.

the packers would have been 12-4 last year if that seattle game wasn't stolen from them.  and at 11-5 they still won their division last year.  they are a very good team.  and they might just have a RB this year.

What, what? It was Atlanta who almost choked that game away, it wasn't Seattle doing much to win or deserving that game. If Atlanta had any kind of a running game last year they win both playoff games easily. Instead they played conservative in the second half and it almost cost them the Seattle game and did lose the San Fran game since all they had to do was focus on shutting down the short passes once the run game stopped itself.
