FTFA: But 911 operators sent two squad cars five miles away to Illfracombe

Of course there was confusion. Do they think a 911 operator would know the location of a town in the UK?

They probably couldn't understand what the caller was saying.

Ah, they called 911 from the UK. Boy that callers face must be red. Everybody knows you have to dial 0118 999 881 999 119 7253 in the event of an emergency.

But instead of directing police to Combe Martin, emergency operators sent two squad cars five miles away to Illfracombe.

Locals call Ilfracombe 'Combe', which goes some way to explaining the confusion. TMYK. Also, why is this article written in American? Has the Daily Wail finally gone full retard?

FTFA: "A Devon and Cornwall Constabulary spokesman told MailOnline: 'A formal complaint has been received about this matter and as is usual in these cases we are unfortunately able to make any comment until this complaint has been dealt with."

Them English people use such nice words when they tell you nothing is going to be done to find out what when wrong and correct the failure.

911 operators only have the authority to tell you that they don't need you to follow someone.  And when they do, they mean "I ORDER YOU TO IMMEDIATELY STOP FOLLOWING THEM".

Spar is a chain of convenience stores in Europe. Their stores are often secured by one or more large hinged or sliding panels known as 'doors'.
