Nope. Anti seat belt people tell me that he was actually thrown to safety... most likely under the rolling bus.

Goddamn idiot for doing that though. Just go to the next exit.

Having been on the roads in China, doesn't surprise me one damn bit.

2013-08-06 10:35:36 PM
Couple of things.

1. Move off to the side of the road. Don't back up in the driving lanes.

2. Wear your seatbelt.

3. If you missed your exit, just let it go because it's gone, man.

I have a mirror over my bed that says'objects are larger than they appear'

Not all mirrors have that warning. You can get stickers to replace it.

The bus driver didn't die.  The driver of the truck that smashed into the back of the bus is dead.

2013-08-06 10:39:34 PM
Jesus Christ, reversing on a highway is retarded and so is realizing your exit is a few hundred feet away and swerving through 3-4 lanes to get to the exit lane. Sadly, I see this way too often. Just let it go, you messed up and missed the exit, just take the next one and double back. That few minutes you save isn't worth putting other peoples' lives in jeopardy because you have poor driving and navigation skills.

2013-08-06 10:40:04 PM
HOLY SHIAT!

Still. "Oops, I missed the exit. I better BACK UP ON THE HIGHWAY IN TRAFFIC???"

Oh, so they don't just do this when they are on vacation??

Authorities are conducting an investigation?  Have they not seen the video of the bus driver reversing on the highway and using passengers as lookouts?  Cause my verdict is in, if they are interested.

2013-08-06 10:43:28 PM
It's a classic example of not thinking things out. Missed the exit? There's gonna be another, and you'll be able to circle back around.

It's not unique to China, I've seen a guy come to a stop to make the exit two lanes over on I-35E in Dallas, trying to make the Medical District exit. Should have just gotten off at the next exit and circled back. Even if you're in the middle of the woods there'll be an exit, if you aren't familiar with the network ofback roads that exist.

I remember pretty much crapping my pants when I was on a bus where the driver decided to reverse on the shoulder back to our exit.

In front of the Pentagon.

Wow...I'm surprised the driver of the bus lived...he was ejected from the vehicle...really horrible to watch the passengers.

2013-08-06 10:58:33 PM
Even the guys in the very back who are looking out the rear window only react a fraction of a second before the impact. What's the deal, did the truck come out of no where?

slayer199: Wow...I'm surprised the driver of the bus lived...he was ejected from the vehicle...really horrible to watch the passengers.

Uh, at least a few others went out the window behind him at the same time... It looks like maybe three people, including the woman with a yellow jacket seen in the second "replay," are wearing seatbelts on the bus.

Rode buses all through the mountains of western China. There were some scary hairy stretches of road shared with trucks whose drivers had a sort of Confucian death wish thing they were dealing with, but all the bus drivers I rode with were a whole lot smarter than this one.

The scenery can be bizarrely wonderful too (flickr video shot out the window- shaky because Chinese Road).

Reminds me of the snippets of snark you hear in GTA as you speed around and crash... like 'How they let you drive if you blind?" or "I'm glad this is not my car!"

They probably thought the guy was going to change lanes or stop. At what point do you think "oh crap he's not braking" and then react? I dunno... I mean most people don't expect the worst.

Since the bus didn't have a rear view cam we'll never be able to see for ourselves what the truck did.

Yeah, another thread with retards screaming and foaming about wearing seatbelts that can nicely rip into the tender belly and get at that organ meat.

/Many laws state that Seatbelts are not required when moving in reverse.
//Know you know, cause knowledge is power and idiots(like the bus driver) kill many people on the roads no matter how much f*cking safety devices you put in vehicles.

Since he is a tour bus driver, I hope he would know the roads.  I, however, applied this logic in unfamiliar Cary, NC and got so unimaginably lost.  I kept exiting on series of highways, not crossovers.  I ran on a quick errand for my wife and left my phone.  It took me 90 minutes for what I thought was a 5 minute juant.

Hmm, when did fark resort to posting snuff videos for page clicks...pretty pathetic.  Do we need to ban the Admin that greenlit this crap?

It does need to be said that repeated and extreme violations of Fark's posting rules will result in a permanent posting ban. We don't want to ban users from participating on the site - but it can and will happen if we have to. A site ban is 100% avoidable by following some simple rules. Remember that these rules are non-negotiable and Farkback will not embark on a protracted debate over so-called grey areas. These rules apply to link submissions AND user profiles as well. To that end, here they are:

Don't repost deleted content/links.
Don't post NSFW (Not Safe For Work) images or unlabeled NSFW links.

Don't post graphic images or links to graphic content.

So doesn't this violate rule # 3 of the FaRQ?  or does HuffPo get a pass since they get on fark so often?

I spent 10 days in China last year--Shenzen, Guizhou, and Beijing.  Sorry, the stereotype of "Asian Driver" is so goddamned true.  I had never feared for my life so much than when I was driving or walking on or near a road in China.  Even the bicyclists are bad.

I'm assuming when they say highway they're referring to the same kinds of highways we have in the US? If so, what the hell was he expecting? No way would traffic expect him to be stopped or in reverse, of course he's going to get hit.

Actualyl if you watch it closely, the bus driver is thrown against the window when it tips over, but he's thrown out while it's rolling downhill.  Nothing but sky behind him when he exits the window, which means he probably ended up on the grass above the bus since it was rolling down a hill.

Maybe that was the last exit before entering Best Korea?

What_Would_Jimi_Do: Wrong, you should never try to back up period. especially if you are driving a bus.

accept that you missed your turn and proceed to next exit. 5 or 10 extra minutes and you can be where you wanted.

Exactly.

MadMattressMack: Second snuff film I've seen on Fark today. I guess death films are OK now?

The bus driver didn't die.

So I guess that makes it okay.

queezyweezel: Mock26: queezyweezel: Mock26: queezyweezel: Hmm, when did fark resort to posting snuff videos for page clicks...pretty pathetic.

The video does not show anyone dying.  Nor does it even show any blood.

Other than that whole bus driver getting flung to his death part, and the people getting their asses beat by the impact...that's not graphic at all....

Not graphic at all.  Again, no one dying and no blood.

Also, read the farking article.  It reports 1 death in the accident.  And it then states that it was the TRUCK driver who died.  T-R-U-C-K.  You do know the difference between a bus and a truck, right?

My bad. Carry on then you rubbernecking vultures. Enjoy the pain and suffering of others.

/whatever makes you happy, right?

Care to point out where I said or even hinted at enjoying the pain and suffering of others?  Hmmm?  Was it because I watched the video?  Well, so did you.

Ikahoshi: UsikFark: Even the guys in the very back who are looking out the rear window only react a fraction of a second before the impact. What's the deal, did the truck come out of no where?

They probably thought the guy was going to change lanes or stop. At what point do you think "oh crap he's not braking" and then react? I dunno... I mean most people don't expect the worst.

Since the bus didn't have a rear view cam we'll never be able to see for ourselves what the truck did.

I have a pretty good idea.

Unless you're in parts of the plain states.

I remember on the Kansas City to Denver drive there were several "next exit/next gas, 275 miles" signs.  Dakotas and Montana are probably worse.

Of course then there isn't much traffic, either.

Don't know about asia but in Mexico it's pretty interesting.  75-85 mph on a regular tarred road, only wide enough for two busses to pass .  .  .  but not the mirrors.
I forgot something, returned to bus to get it and see four or five drivers trying to fix/replace the missing the mirror on my transport that you could plainly see was wrenched from it's stanchion at speed.
Also at lower speed but still a thrilling ride were the rides in Barbados (some, not all), Puerto Rico, most of them, St. Thomas (god I can't stand that place) Antigua was earrrrly in the am so it didn't count and Martinique I was just too loaded to care to look.  St Lucia, the roads were so poor that there was no high speed navigation on them.  It just wasn't possible.  When I was there it took about four hours to go from one end of the island to the other (27 miles).

The US just doesn't compare, in a way I'm sort of glad about that.

wow what is with all the pussies complaining about a crash video. this is tame. there is no blood, no gore, and you cant see anyone die. you sound like a bunch of soccer moms. if reality is offensive to you, just kill yourself please. thank you.

2013-08-07 02:45:29 AM
I can't watch this video. I will get depressed and want to die.

My girlfriend watches those ID channel shows about murder, and abuse, and sex crimes, and I have a weird boner writing this, but I still don't like to hear about all that. I'll be more depressed than I regularly am and the urge to kill myself will just be too irresistible.

I feel bad for those Chineses. They should try to drive with their eyes fully open.

2013-08-07 03:33:56 AM
Is it just me or does it seem like almost everyone around is a dumbass? (Well, by "everyone" I mean "both drivers".) The bus driver was a dumbass for obvious reasons, but I don't give a pass to the truck driver either. If the bus had been completely stopped I'd say that it was mostly the truck driver's fault. Backing up changes things a bit, but the bus wasn't the vehicle that made up most of that closing speed.

and, yet, it accurately answered queezyweezel's [favorite: Total whining pussy] FarQ question, having been a graphic video of people being stampeded into the ground that made the front page of fark, with no [WARNING: GRAPHIC] tag.

Seriously, queezyweezel you sound like such a goddam snowflake in this thread. Fark the fark right off, ja?

queezyweezel:

Weird; it auto-played on my phone, but not my pc.

Autoplay or not, the only reason you clicked on the link was so you could watch the video, and you know it.  So you deliberately watched a video that you chastised everyone else as "vultures" for watching. You are a racist, woman-hating, lying, hypocritical piece of sh*t.

queezyweezel is still pretty much a POS for his later comment, but, in his defense, there's nothing in the Fark headline that suggested that the video would be anywhere near as... graphic as it is. (Not sure that's quite the right word, but I can't think of a better one.) There are 1000 things it could have been instead of this. I clicked the link thinking that it'd be something like a video of a giant moose behind a car, or maybe a very close call.

In front of the Pentagon.

If it was on the GW Pkwy or one of those roads around it, it seems like it should be no big deal (still stupid). If it was on I-395 then that's completely insane.

American living in Seoul. Drivers here are farking insane, the only rule is that there are no rules. The bad Asian driver isn't a stereotype, that is literally how they drive here. Hell, for motorcycles, the sidewalk is literally an extension of the road.

There's a joke in here about a deputy coming on a scene where 10 injured black men have been thrown from a pickup truck and he asks the trans-am owner "how fast was he going when he backed into you?"
