queezyweezel: Hmm, when did fark resort to posting snuff videos for page clicks...pretty pathetic.  Do we need to ban the Admin that greenlit this crap?

It does need to be said that repeated and extreme violations of Fark's posting rules will result in a permanent posting ban. We don't want to ban users from participating on the site - but it can and will happen if we have to. A site ban is 100% avoidable by following some simple rules. Remember that these rules are non-negotiable and Farkback will not embark on a protracted debate over so-called grey areas. These rules apply to link submissions AND user profiles as well. To that end, here they are:

Don't repost deleted content/links.
Don't post NSFW (Not Safe For Work) images or unlabeled NSFW links.
Don't post graphic images or links to graphic content.

So doesn't this violate rule # 3 of the FaRQ?  or does HuffPo get a pass since they get on fark so often?

You could have simply read the article, the video wasn't autoplay so watching it was your choice, or was the headline "Deadly bus crash caught on video" not clear to you?

The article said the truck driver was killed, NOT the bus driver.

By your logic any link to any war in history would not be permitted as [while you don't always see it] people die in wars too.

The video does not show anyone dying.  Nor does it even show any blood.

Other than that whole bus driver getting flung to his death part, and the people getting their asses beat by the impact...that's not graphic at all....

Not graphic at all.  Again, no one dying and no blood.

Also, read the farking article.  It reports 1 death in the accident.  And it then states that it was the TRUCK driver who died.  T-R-U-C-K.  You do know the difference between a bus and a truck, right?

Actualyl if you watch it closely, the bus driver is thrown against the window when it tips over, but he's thrown out while it's rolling downhill.  Nothing but sky behind him when he exits the window, which means he probably ended up on the grass above the bus since it was rolling down a hill.

AverageAmericanGuy: Couple of things.

1. Move off to the side of the road. Don't back up in the driving lanes.

They probably thought the guy was going to change lanes or stop. At what point do you think "oh crap he's not braking" and then react? I dunno... I mean most people don't expect the worst.

Since the bus didn't have a rear view cam we'll never be able to see for ourselves what the truck did.

I have a pretty good idea.

Unless you're in parts of the plain states.

I remember on the Kansas City to Denver drive there were several "next exit/next gas, 275 miles" signs.  Dakotas and Montana are probably worse.

Of course then there isn't much traffic, either.

Don't know about asia but in Mexico it's pretty interesting.  75-85 mph on a regular tarred road, only wide enough for two busses to pass .  .  .  but not the mirrors.
I forgot something, returned to bus to get it and see four or five drivers trying to fix/replace the missing the mirror on my transport that you could plainly see was wrenched from it's stanchion at speed.
Also at lower speed but still a thrilling ride were the rides in Barbados (some, not all), Puerto Rico, most of them, St. Thomas (god I can't stand that place) Antigua was earrrrly in the am so it didn't count and Martinique I was just too loaded to care to look.  St Lucia, the roads were so poor that there was no high speed navigation on them.  It just wasn't possible.  When I was there it took about four hours to go from one end of the island to the other (27 miles).

The US just doesn't compare, in a way I'm sort of glad about that.

I can't watch this video. I will get depressed and want to die.

My girlfriend watches those ID channel shows about murder, and abuse, and sex crimes, and I have a weird boner writing this, but I still don't like to hear about all that. I'll be more depressed than I regularly am and the urge to kill myself will just be too irresistible.

I feel bad for those Chineses. They should try to drive with their eyes fully open.

2013-08-07 03:33:56 AM
Is it just me or does it seem like almost everyone around is a dumbass? (Well, by "everyone" I mean "both drivers".) The bus driver was a dumbass for obvious reasons, but I don't give a pass to the truck driver either. If the bus had been completely stopped I'd say that it was mostly the truck driver's fault. Backing up changes things a bit, but the bus wasn't the vehicle that made up most of that closing speed.
