Three employees were bitten by the spiders last week at the Air Traffic Control Center in Olathe, Kan

And in a stunning twist, the spiders now have all the powers of an air traffic controller.

"You're talking in some spider cases up to 400 and in large breeds, you're talking 1000's from one mom," CJ Workman with Schendel Pest Control said.

Ahh yes, the Duggar Spider. Those can be quite troublesome in large numbers.

That is actually probably a slightly more realistic, and realistically deadly situation than a sharknado... if you had a bunch of poisonous spiders that were being thrown around at people.

Yeah, I had an egg sack or two open up one chilly night when I was staying over at my friend's place when we were kids.  We woke up, middle of the night, with thousands of tiny white spiders covering every square inch of our skin.  Eyes, ears, nose, mouse, everything.  I don't have nightmares but, to this day, I can't sleep at night if I spot a spider in my bedroom.  17 years later.

I work in the aviation industry in Olathe, and I have been on a group tour of the this facility. It is very cool (lots of CSI-like monitors everywhere). Also, my backyard is full of all sorts of spiders. That's all. Just thought I'd share.

Generally speaking, I like spiders.  Not because they are pretty like parrots, or anything hyper-silly like that.  They are just kinda cool, and perform a good services for all of us that dislike all those flyng insects that are always in the way.

Having said that, if a few 1000 of them suddenly came into the room, and they were larger ones, I would probably run out of the room screaming like a girl.

I was dead asleep the other night, dreaming about several Japanese women participating in a strange bondage situation involving costume dog ears and rope and ball gags, when I suddenly awoke to a large spider crawling on my shoulder.

Did the sensation of the spider's little prickly legs plodding along on my bare skin somehow cause the bizarre content of my dream? I wonder.

I lived in that area for quite a while - there were plenty of brown recluse spiders in houses, garages, etc.  I used to see several a year - if there were a bunch of them in that place then leaving quickly would be a very good option.  Also there are spiders that look somewhat like brown recluse just to mess with you.

You just have to be sure to eat around the mouthparts.

In all seriousness, tarantulas are venomous, but mostly not significant to humans. Their bites are about the equivalent of a bee sting. In the US, it's a few of the smaller spiders you have to watch out for, such as brown recluses, black widows, and hobo spiders.

That's what I'd heard: that their bite is the equivalent of a bee/wasp sting.  Still, how do you cook them?  Deep fryer?  Broiling?  Do they go good with salad and a nice Pinot Grigio?
