He's marginally more likeable and reasonable when he's not running for office.  But only marginally.

Most call him RINO Newt now

He isn't stupid. He doesn't even lack the ability to empathize.

Therefore he is a horrible, greedy, selfish human being all by choice. I pity him.

Oh, for fark's sake Newty. Just own up to your goals and the fact you achieved them.

Shoot, you can read all about how American military personnel died and were wounded just so Newty's friends BP could control one of the world's largest oil fields. BP is so proud of themselves they talk all about it  on their own website. Thanks Newty. A whole generation of men and women who volunteered to find and kill Osama Bin Laden ended up fighting and dying for your friends BP. How much did their lobbyist pay you, Newty?

More proof that neocons have no core values. Their utter lack of integrity means that they can do a u-turn on a dime when it suits their purpose. Situational ethics FTW.

But if you read the drivel he spoke, its the usual self contradicting, meaningless self-aggrandizing verbiage

Also the guy who they are trying to put as a replacement for Thomas Jefferson in Texan history books. Rather scary.

When you are stuck in a hole, at some point you have stop digging.

"core values" cannot overcome reality.

As Reagan said in 1987, "a few months ago I told the American people we did not trade arms for hostages. My heart and my best intentions tell me that's true, but the facts and evidence tell me it's not"

'Export democracy' via half-assed conquest/partial occupation has a sketchy history from the Weimar Republic on.

If you are not going to utterly flatten the country and wipe-out the previous style of government, it is better to leave them to their own kind of mess.

Sunday:
"I don't think right-wing social engineering is any more desirable than left-wing social engineering. I don't think imposing radical change from the right or the left is a very good way for a free society to operate."

Wednesday:
"So let me say on the record, any ad which quotes what I said on Sunday is a falsehood."

Ya, you're right. BP, via the Anglo Persian Oil Company and the Iraq Petroleum Company, made billions off of Iraqi oil. Until the Ba'athists nationalized the oil industry. Let's see. Who was the head of the Ba'ath party in Iraq? And what did we do to get rid of him? And now who is back to making billions off of Iraqi oil?

Yeah.

Only point was that BP has been in there from the start so no one should be surprised that they want back in.

A refresher course is needed.
A neoconservative is a Jewish conservative. One that was typically raised by US communist parents but broke with the gentile left when they did not see the support for Israel. They jumped to the right with their main tenets being Israel and "Is it good for Jews?"

The AIPAC money started to flow and gentile opportunists (Rumsfeld, Newt, Cheney, McCain)  jumped on board and were promoted within the Republican party.

That dumb muthafarker George W. Bush bought in, hook, line and sinker. That dupe was told an Iraq invasion and unseating of Saddam would allow Israel to make peace with the Palistinians and bring about lasting mid east peace. Of course, they were played him as a sucker. Like Lucy pulling the football away from Charlie Brown. The Iraq war was instigated by PNAC, AIPAC and their friends in the media.

Newt was on board. He may be amoral but he's no dummy. Despite the best efforts of the neoconservatives, the American public may turning against endless war in the mid east. Christie and Hillary may face a surprise in the primaries from candidates running on an anti-war platform.  Newt senses this.

Vectron: A neoconservative is a Jewish conservative.

Bullshiat. A neoconservative is a protege of Leo Strauss and his intellectual progeny. It's a very specific term with a very specific meaning, which has been twisted and abused over the past decade. While it's true that many neoconservative thinkers have come from Jewish backgrounds (Strauss himself, for one) it's ridiculous to say "a neoconservative is a Jewish conservative." Charles Krauthammer, for instance, is no neoconservative.

Even the mainstream Wikipedia shines a light on the truth.

Neoconservatism is an intellectual movement born in the 1960s inside the monthly review Commentary. Commentary is the journal of the American Jewish Committee, which replaced the Contemporary Jewish Record in 1945.[1][2] On the "theoretical" side of neoconservatism, most influential neoconservatives such as Norman Podhoretz(jew) and his son John (jew), Irving Kristol (jew)and his son William (jew)), Donald Kagan (jew), Paul Wolfowitz (jew), and Abram Schulsky (jew), refer explicitly to the ideas in the philosophy of Leo Strauss (jew).[3] They often describe themselves as "Straussians."

If it quacks like a duck.....

I think most gentiles define neo-conservatives as holding Israel of center importance in foreign policy so yes we would include Krautbummer in the cult of neos. How many jewish conservatives don't hold voice a strong support for Israel? ZERO. So neo-conservatism started as a Jewish political movement, it remains committed to Israel first and has picked up gentile opportunists along the way.

Vectron: They often describe themselves as "Straussians."

Straussian is not even a political term per se. It refers to Leo Strauss' idiosyncratic hermeneutic approach to the interpretation of certain philosophical texts. While Strauss does put more emphasis on the political than others, he brings out the political elements that work within the texts themselves and does not inject his own politics into the interpretation.

While some Straussians might be "neo cons," whatever that means, "Straussian" does not equal neo-con.
