I'm sure that he proudly wrote it out himself as part of the general media-information package.

Band names (and film, product, etc.) are frequently translated phonetically into Katakana script for use in Japan - the kids learn the English alphabetical equivalents to the Japanese Katakana script and can then translate it back......with all kinds of errors.

Having worked with JHS kids in Japan my first thought was "that sounds about right." Bad taste in music abounds in JHS regardless of the country.
