Hmmmm....does this mean they expect to lose Bale?

We actually completed a move, in the summer transfer window, worth more than £9 million? I'm genuinely shocked!

It's not often you'll hear this from an Arsenal fan, but I'm actually jealous that you managed to complete one. I've spent all summer getting my hopes up only to see them dashed. I think we've been linked now with 8 players since Yaya Sanogo, and not one of them has signed.

As a casual fan of the EPL (always been partial to La Liga), has Arsenal ever bought the people they said they'll buy with Wenger at the helm?
There has been a new "top target" every week...

That must be why they let Dempsey go

As a very casual EPL fan, I wish I knew more stereotypes about teams and their fans.  For example, are these fans more like Raider fans, Packer fans, or even worse - like Jets fans.

I think that Wenger is a phenomenal coach, but the time has come for him to write up a list of players he wants and give it to someone else to negotiate. He sets these valuations that he won't exceed, then other teams pick up the players for more than Arsenal are willing to spend on the player. Hopefully Wenger will make up the last of the signings before the transfer window closes but I've learned better than to invest too heavily in hope for something like that.

Yeah, what's the latest on Bale? I say give him to Madrid for €50... paid every year for the next five years.

More like Bills fans. Close to making the playoffs, never bad enough to be relegated, but never actually making it; sometimes failing at the very end.

I don't think so, they had this deal in the works way before the Bale Saga(TM)started. If anything Soldado has come out as one of the voices that may keep Bale around for one more year.

Probably not the exact amount of info you're looking for, but NBC has started a Premier League Primer on some of the teams.

If he's for sale for only €250 I'm sure we could all pitch in and buy him outright for TKU.

If they end up selling Bale, Levy and the board better have some players in line.  I'll be pissed if they sell him and cry that it was too late in the transfer window to pick up anyone.

I also don't want RM's trash -- di Maria, et al.  Modric?  ha ha.  I got enough of his pouty disappearing act two seasons ago.  While it would be ironic to ship him back, I really want no part of it.

$120 million for one guy is ridiculous.  They can buy 4-5 really good players for that amount of money.  The money should help us leapfrog Arsenal (maybe Chelsea) and finish in the top 4.   Bale's my favorite player on my favorite team but the money would be a huge boost for the club.

Bill Simmons wrote a great EPL column comparing all the teams to American teams.  It's a bit dated (2008, I believe so a lot of the players aren't on the teams he mentions) but still a great read.

Big city, usually do OK, haven't won any championships in a while...

Bears fans.

I think she'd be happy with a healthy Gerrard, and we can acquire him for a lot less.

/we'll need to save up for Christmas

Cool.  Thanks everyone.

Blackburn -- Everyone agrees this is the dirtiest team in the EPL -

Hmm, I'm intrigued.

You want dirty, Stoke City is your team. Be prepared though, Mark Hughes is now in charge, which probably means they're getting relegated.

It all depends on what you want. Do you a top class team to support (the Manchesters or Chelsea), a team that plays good looking football but may be muscled of the ball (Spurs, Swansea), plucky underdogs doing well by teamwork and never say die (Everton, West Brom, Norwich), how early will they get relegated (Hull, Cardiff), manager who is as mad as a hatter but a great guy (Palace), the best years behind them (Liverpool and Arsenal).
