This guy I used to work with told me a story about how a restaurant in a mall was dumping their deep fryer grease directly into the sewers. Of course it plugged the mains and the sewers backed up throughout the whole mall. After they caught the restaurant doing it, they had a lot of bills to pay.

They have a similar problem in London over the holidays. Many residents discard the remains of their Xmas goose down the pipes. That's some greezy stuff there too.
