So? I'm sure there are plenty of FarkLIbtards, with pictures of W in a place of reverence in their domiciles.

2013-08-05 08:04:29 AM
So what?

2013-08-05 08:07:07 AM
pictures of the bizarre game (pictured right) were taken by fairgoer Abigail Czapsky.

The writers choice of bizarre to describe one of the most common games you might play at a bazaar  is bizarre.

I'm fine with that. harmless fun. It's not like it said "learn to kill Obama!" anywhere on the signs.

(note to the NSA monitoring this message, I do not plan on killing Obama.)

2013-08-05 08:08:39 AM
I, for one, believe them. I fully believe that New York fair officials are incapable of recognizing a picture of President Obama, and possibly even a picture of themselves.

2013-08-05 08:09:03 AM
Yeah... that's mature.

2013-08-05 08:10:18 AM
I'm sure it was some other "upstanding white man" they used!

I ran out of 12 year old pictures of Trayvon.  Also they couldn't book Zimmerman to take the first shot.

Someone decided this was news?  Even after years of seeing banner ads and t-shirts like 'punch George Bush to win an iPad'?  Look if some carny thinks this is funny or appropriate as part of his business model all the power to him.  Let your market decide if he's doing it right.

2013-08-05 08:15:36 AM
Ban darts?

/Better solution: Un-wad your panties and dust the sand out.
/Political figures have been plastered on targets for as long as we've been drawing pictures.

Contrived outrage is still outrage.

Hasn't this been done in some form with every President since ever?

Fairs are mostly for children. Do you really think that teaching them "shooting at the POTUS is funny" is a good message to send?

And yet his detractors are the ones so butthurt they need to act out their poutrage in such a juvenile way.

Because the image of George W. Bush has always been treated with the utmost respect and dignity by his detractors...

you'd figure the high brow individuals at the Algonquin Carny Table could have come up with a more sophisticated way to lampoon the president of the united states. Sitting around a cardboard box, drinking Lysol out of a brandy snifter, smoking swisher sweets...

Carnies aren't the sharpest knives in the drawer. Nor are the people who would pay to throw a dart at a pic of the president. End of story.

It's probably worth pointing out that this wasn't the New York State Fair, as some might infer from the headline, but rather the Ostego County Fair in Morris, NY.

I'm an Upstate NY native myself, living in the south now, and this is a great example of the rednecky behavior one can easily find all over western and central NY. I sometimes have to explain to southerners that, no, the entire state of New York is not comprised of the island of Manhattan, and yes, we have wide open spaces, agriculture, and redneck shiatheads in New York too.

Do you think those kids even know or care who your potus is?  The games rows in carny land are always the creepiest and most aggressive any ways, I bet someone so crude as to think this was a good idea practically drives the kids away with pure personality as it is.  This is more like a 'heads up, douche bag who will talk your ear off about the ebil fartbama ahead!' sign that he willingly puts up.  I think its a great feature actually.

Was it right then? Does this mean we get to create vile images encouraging violence against republican politicians now and the righties won't say a peep?

Cool.

Indeed, people need to conduct themselves with the dignity and seriousness that a carnival demands.

Or maybe you need to lighten the fark up and try not be such a hand-wringing poutraging liberal caricature.

Yep, there are a lot of redneck types up in upstate, the worst ones are the assholes who fly the southern cross, it's like wtf dude atleast fly the 13 colonies flag. But anyways, this carny lady could be from anywhere, they travel the whole US hitting up fairs like this all summer.

And that's cool for thinking people trying not to poison their kids with their partisan derpery but you just KNOW Cletus is going to squeal with delight when little Billy pegs that dirty socialist ni*BONG* right between the eyes.

A valued lesson and much needed positive reinforcement for the young lad to ensure his nomination for the Nobel Peace prize.

Hahaha, seriously. I've seen the stars and bars on truck bumpers all over the finger lakes region. It's like... Seriously? Do you have any idea where or when you are in history?

And after 7 years in the south, still, the most heinous, cringe-inducing racist tirade I ever heard from was from some mouth-breather from Newfane, NY, in Niagara County. He was the brother of the bride at a wedding I was at last year, and I don't even want to get into it, but I never thought simple spoken words could make me physically ill, but this guy almost did it.

I dated a carnie chick for a while. She was a freak in the sack. Had to break it off with her because she turned into a cokehead. That and she pissed in my bed one night after stumbling home drunk from the bar.

I would think that "high profile politician dartboard" would be the sort of classic that stayed in play for all time. Except those times when abusing the face of der leader would be a sin. Is this such a time?
