So let me get this straight.  You and Linux_Yes insist that the democrat party is NOT the party of big business.

Sooo.... Google isn't big business?  Yahoo isn't big business?  Amazon.com isn't big business?  GE isn't big business?  ABC, CBS & NBC aren't big business?  Newspapers and magazines aren't big business?  The music industry isn't big business?  College campuses across the nation aren't big business?  Planned Parenthood isn't big business?  Big Labor isn't big business?  Hollywood isn't big business?  Drug makers aren't big business?

If I had the time, I could go on.  But all of the above are huge supporters of, propaganda artists for and big money donors to the democrat party.  Are democrats 'against' that?  Of course not.

You two are crazy.

Exactly. They inadvertently exposed the long con going among the right wing media figures and think tanks.

I'm not sure that was inadvertent. In the long game, it might have been a ploy by the non-tea party R's to get the tea partiers both frothing mad (so they'd vote R) and defunded (so they can't win primaries).

/It's my first time making up a conspiracy, how'd I do?

That's a pretty good one, and it fits right in with the larger narrative of establishment Republicans like McCain trying to put the TeaTards back in their gimp box. That's what Mittens coronation as the GOP nominee before a primary vote had even been cast was all about.

I, for one, wish them the best of luck in trying to put that genie back into the bottle.

It's great fun to watch. The best part is the TeaTards have no idea that they're losing the war.

Kinda funny how I started with the president and you conveniently ignored it.

You mean the President who signed and campaigned for healthcare reform which sees insurance premiums reduced? That President? The one who signed financial regulation that contained the setup for the consumer watchdog commission? That President? Are you kidding me?

The healthcare bill basically sucks. Sure it is better than where we were before, but that isn't saying much. Obama took single-payer off the table before he started to appease the lobbyists.

As far as financial regulation goes, sorry but Obama is totally in the back pocket of Wall Street. The commission is a joke and all the major players in the financial meltdown have walked scot-free while there has been no real reform of the laws governing our financial system.

I suppose you're of the opinion that the GOP would have done better on these issues.

the_dude_abides: let's look at how the president has framed the irs scandal: first, it was an outrage and would not be tolerated (true). then it was rogue agents at the cincinnati office acting on their own (false). then it was a republican manager being solely responsible for the targeting (false). then it was progressives being targeted with the same impunity as conservatives (false). now it's a "phony" scandal that should be ignored (wishful thinking). the narrative is falling apart.

the obama defense squad can keep denying it, but as more information is uncovered, the situation is getting worse for the administration. irs chief counsel william wilkins' office has been implicated. that's a fairly big development and it's going to lead to further inquiries. drip, drip, drip...

No, it was always all of those things. Information trickles, it does not flow. The story never changed, just the available information. And at this point, given the information amassed, it turns out it IS a phony scandal that just needs to go away. We saw the same thing with Benghazi, but you people learn nothing.

It boils down to tax fraud. That's all that the IRS "scandal" is about. Did folks who were engaged in partisan politicking attempt to defraud the American people? That's the heart of this whole matter, and perhaps asking for a closer look at this horrendous over-reach--given that folks were granted tax free status despite some misgivings and questioning of their motives--is maybe not the best approach to it...
Didn't you read the article?  AIP makes a campaign ad criticizing Obama.  The Obama campaign attacks AIP, which already had 501(c)(4) status, and then, once Obama is President, the IRS illegally gives AIP's tax information to the FEC for investigation.  That's NOT about applying for tax-free status, and the article doesn't even mention applications.  Try being less of a Democrat tool.
If GWB had ordered the IRS to give MoveOn.org's tax information illegally to the FEC, and ordered the FEC to investigate MoveOn.org, it would have been the greatest abuse of power in American history.

It probably wouldn't be his biggest abuse of power that week.
