Who are the people who still subscribe to TV Guide? Olds? People who are too insecure to call a stranger and ask to cancel their subscription?

The TV Guide channel in no way provides any type of guide to television.

Instead, it runs a lot of Who's The Boss, Designing Women, Dharma and Greg, and Early Edition reruns.

Foxxinnia: Who are the people who still subscribe to TV Guide? Olds? People who are too insecure to call a stranger and ask to cancel their subscription?

I got a free subscription to TV guide for some bizarre reason several years ago - I think it might have come with a TV we bought or something - and halfway through it changed from the nice little hand-held block of TV listings to a really shiatty Entertainment Weekly ripoff. It was so awful I bothered to call and ask them not to send any more to the house.

Even my parents, who have subscribed to Reader's Digest my entire life, don't bother with TV Guide - they just use the weekly TV insert in our local paper.

I think I would trust the Pony writing staff with Doctor Who more than I do Moffat at this point.

However, that ending to S7 was pretty damn good. The 50th is his chance to either blow us away or fark everything up.

No, I'm honestly curious about the phrasing of that statement. The way it's worded, it's like a question. Like you're almost testing of how tolerant we'd be of someone who took a shower in the Penn State locker room.

Honestly, I've thought about getting rid of my Cable and just having internet service. Probably loads cheaper and I'd use it more.

There's really only two scenarios in which you'd regret dropping cable:

1. If you're a big time sports fan. Even then though, over-the-air gets you like 80% of your NFL needs, major sports championships, and quite a lot of college football and basketball. Choices are sometimes limited but you can still watch stuff.

2. If you're a "water cooler" guy on popular shows like Breaking Bad, Game of Thrones, Mad Men, etc. You're either going to be like 12-18 months behind or not getting it at all.

But really, once you're cable free for 3 months you don't see any commercials for stuff so you don't really notice you're missing it.

Kevin Yeah

Kevin: I'd be excited for you.

Dave: All right, now let's say I had a second really great chicken salad sandwich and I called and I told you about that one.

Kevin: I'd think great! Lunchtime must be very happy for you.

Dave: Terrific. Now suppose, all day long, all I did, was eat these chicken salad sandwiches, and at the completion of each sandwich, I phoned you and told you about it. Wouldn't you start to get bored?

Kevin: No. I would not get bored.

Dave: Wouldn't you get a little bored? Admit it! You'd get bored!

Kevin: I wouldn't be bored, I'd be concerned. I'd be concerned about your cholesterol level.

Dave: Look, let's just play golf, okay, Lazarus?

the dealy-o on the channel I mentioned was the basic cable channel that provided and endless loop of the programing bracket of all the channels. usually at the top, or bottom of the channel spectrum... when I was young, it was on cable 01, and it eventually went up 479 or something...

at some point, that programing scroll was split in half horizonatly, so the bottom half still had the programing bracket scroll, and the top half had infomercials about upcoming programing and it was then called the "TV guide channel"
now, weather this exists anymore or, not, I couldn't say.. my "cable" is FIOS, I don't really pay for it, and I spend a lot of my viewing time on Netflix and Amazon Prime myself.

I like the idea that the internet is one big high school and there are certain groups in which one does NOT affiliate with. If only there was a way for people who don't like a thing to not participate in that particular thing. But alas, there is not; just like how I am forced to participate in every WWE thread despite not enjoying the spectacle.
