That is a pretty crappy apology

1 not an apology
2 that's not what he said. He blamed Aaron of being egocentric and not spreading the wealth on the field, despite Greg being his favorite target when he was healthy.

Gregg Jennings got the ball plenty when he was peaking. It just so happened he lost a step, and Randall Cobb became the receiver of choice. You wanna complain about not getting the ball enough, try being a Packers running back. It might be that being a Vikings receiver in the AP/Ponder era is similar to being a running back for the current Packers.

The number one sports station in Minnesota is KFAN. Even THAT station is like "That's not really an apology".

So yeah, he should have not even "apologized" cause he sounds worse and worse.

EyeballKid: It just so happened he lost a step

He got hurt. It happens.

Hey, long term you could be 100% right. I'm just saying if a guy spends most of a year hurt, it seems pretty disingenuous to be all "he's lost a step". Especially considering he had 3 or so years before that where he played 15 to 16 games and, as you mentioned, he was the QB's #1 target.

2013-08-02 09:51:41 AM
At least it wasn't a weasel worded written by his agent apology. I got to say, that spontaneous "apology" doesn't sound like he's sorry.

Mr Jennings

Kneel before the alter (Super Bowl I trophy)
cross yourself in respect of the Holy Trinity (Lambeau, Lombardi and Starr)
say 3 hail Mary's (I'd say catch but he's a Viking now)
go and sin no more....

In my opinion I don't think he even needed to apologize for that.

Is it status quo for Green bay fans to shiat on their good players once they leave the team?

Would you pinky swear right now to us that if any of Atlanta's WRs were to leave next season and then begin a random, public sh*t fest about Matt Ryan, you wouldn't say a bad word about them?

Woodson was the man. Even despite his constant Illegal Contacts and PIs. That guy was special. Jennings? I liked him a lot too. But STFU after you leave the team; you weren't worth what you were asking, especially given Cobb, Nelson, and Jones' production.

Packers averaged 34.9 pass attempts and 27.1 rushing attempts per game. That puts them solidly in the middle of the league. Their failures to run the ball aren't due to lack of attempts.

Can anyone name a situation in which a receiver started biatching about his receptions or the quarterback and it WASN'T a sign their career was about to nosedive?

Didn't Brandon Marshall do something similar too?

If Aaron Rodgers was my QB and I got a ring in large part due to him I'd probably let some annoying stuff slide. I doubt this exchange would occur:

ME: (seeing coffee mug on new table) "Come on, Aaron! Use a coaster!"
RODGERS: "Relax, man! I got you a ring a couple years ago!"
ME: "I'm just saying it's a brand-new and expensive table."
RODGERS: "Sorry, bro."
ME:
RODGERS:
ME: "Screw this. I'm going to Minnesota."

you gotta be a super-serial prima donna diva if you dislike the QB who got you a super bowl ring

"oh, we didn't get multiple rings! fark him!"

dude should just leave the league

Everyday I wake up, scratch things and usually have a coffee.  And that is a better, more newsworthy story than this non-insult and related apology.

Oh come on - Roddy White and Anquan Boldin were basically the same guy over the last 3 years and you know it.

Same for Julio Jones and Torrey Smith!

As a Packers fan, I wasn't upset about Jennings comment.

After all, you can't help but feel sorry for him now that he's on the Viqueens.

/good bye Greg
//Hope you Ponder your choices after your team's eliminated 10 games into the season!

Finally, we have a replacement for Moss in that Jennings comes off as a cockbag. Now to get Jennings a fro, to mock-moon during a touchdown dance, and most importantly; run down traffic cops.

Miss you buddy.

We, the greater football fans, deserve an apology from Mister Jennings.

Not for what he said about A-Rod, that wasn't really a biggie.

No, for this half-assed POS attempt at an 'apology'.

Really, greg, you can do better.

Plus, we only give our old players shiat when they leave if (a) they go to a division rival, (b) are dicks about it in the media, and its a bonus if they begin to suck at that point, but it isn't required.

Hence, you didn't hear much grumbling when Darren Sharper went there. Or Longwell. Or even Bishop. All good or better players, but they kept some class and respect and weren't flaming cockbags about it.

Bert and Jennings? Heard plenty about them, ain't'cha? What do you think that means?

We'll see how you feel about Ponder being as good as Rodgers when you actually have to play with him. Everyone's pretty good in practice.

Debatable. Geno smith was the only one to throw a completion during the first day at jets camp.

Probably not....just shutting up (like coach Frazier publicly told him to) would have sufficed.

But, I think we all agree it's just bad form to talk much about former teammates at all. Even if it's effusive praise...too much of it and it's just weird. You're on a different team now. Move on.

Say what you will about his skills, but the man was a pro when Barry Sanders won the Heisman, and he was a pro when Barry went into the Hall of Fame.

/his career actually bracketed three HoFers - Sanders, Troy Aikman, and Hurricanes teammate Michael Irvin
